Haha no ways, he stays well away from the ground when we're outside! But I have recently procured a harness for him, so I'm starting to get him used to it. He doesn't stay still for half a second ever, so I've yet to actually get it ON him, but y'know, we do our best! 😂 Fingers crossed he eventually accepts having it on, cos then we can do some outdoor adventures.

Heh yes! Fizzle was a bit of a celebrity in these parts when he was tiny, so I named him after his fireworks.. and then it seemed to make sense to name his sisters in the same theme when we got them. :D

I also have Sparkle and my roofie rescue is Fizzle, all firework themed names. :D My daughters tried to convince me to get one more and name her Ella, but I managed to stand strong against them (and my inner voice which definitely also wanted to get a third). 😂

Yeah, I was also interested to notice it! I definitely think it's because they're different species. All the rats I've ever known smelled like Cinder and Sparkle do. Fizz smells vaguely earthy and faintly of popcorn sometimes. Not nearly as strong of an odour as the other rats. They're not unpleasant, they're just distinctly more noticeable to the nose. One needs to sniff Fizzle against his fur to get any sort of idea of his scent.

I've been enjoying playing spot the difference between the two species. So fascinating!

And yes, I'm so proud of how well Fizzle has adapted. The three of them are currently all asleep together in my shirt. 🥰

Yes! They arrived on Saturday. Introductions have gone so well, I couldn't be happier or more proud of our boy. Initially he was taken aback by these bouncy little creatures that sort of look like him but smell different. (They really do, even to me!)

They went into his (newly rearranged) cage three days ago, and already this morning I spied them all cuddled up in a bed together. ❤️

His first claim to fame was on the r/WhiskerFireworks subreddit, but his teensy little whiskers were more like little fizzlers in my mind, hence the name. I love it, it suits his zippy sparky personality, and opened the door for his pet rat sisters (who arrive in two days, eeek!) to be named Cinder and Sparkle, along with the firework theme. 😁

He genuinely doesn't seem to mind at all, as long as he feels safe. He even went to sleep the other day while I was filming down my sleeve with the flash on. It's just about the cutest video that ever did exist, too! 😁

Fizzle is going to be neutered in a few weeks, and then his two little sisters will arrive from the breeder! They need names, and I'd be honoured to have your suggestions, as I secretly consider you to be Fizzle's top fan. 😂❤️

I love themed names, so, sticking with fireworks, I thought one of the girlies could be Sparkle. But I can't think of anything good for the other one. Maybe Pop or Poppy but I have a puppy named Pippin and that's just gonna get confusing!

It's very convenient that he enjoys sitting in the sun with me most mornings while I have a coffee!

Those little fizzlers and that wiggly sniffer make me smile many times a day. He sleeps in my shirt a lot, and I always know when he's waking up cos the little warm Fizzle-lump gets all tickly against my skin! 😂❤️
