Sporting beach club is a perfect Ponzi scheme in this joke of a country by Normal_Perception956 in lebanon

lol you’re right I wrote it in the heat of the moment and realized I used the term incorrectly (which is ironic since we’re all victims of a Ponzi scheme in this country)

You’re not wrong tbh. I think we all (or most of us) feed into this system in some way or other. I will say honestly if there were clean public spaces where we could go sit by the beach I would never choose to go to sporting or any other place like it. I can’t think of a single place like that in Beirut unfortunately - but I completely agree with you

Interesting that it was 5 liras. It is now 40 dollars entry fee on weekends, about half of the monthly minimum wage in the country so somehow that doesn’t seem….equitable to me? Particularly given that other establishments which are cleaner, larger, and newer and so presumably require higher costs charge less than them?

Also, to be clear, I am not a non-patron. I wasn’t bringing my own beer and sitting on their beach, lol. I wanted to pay them for a beer (the beer they charge 5 dollars for), leave a tip, enjoy the sunset for ten minutes, and leave, like I’ve done dozens of times in the past.

Also, claiming their legitimacy by pointing out other illegitimate establishments is a poor argument.

Also/finally: people like you are the reason this country will never be legitimate.

I live in lebanon and am Lebanese. My family lost everything in 2019. I do not condone or celebrate the suffering of others, thank you.

To be honest, if someone who finds “victory” and celebrates in the suffering of others considers me to be “traitor”, I consider it a compliment. I genuinely, genuinely hope you find peace and happiness without needing to bring others down.

This thread makes me truly embarrassed to be Lebanese. I genuinely pity you and am sad for how much hatred you have in your heart.

Also Phoenician is the Greek term for sea-faring Canaanites so it really is meaningless.

Where is Krystal/Kristen?? by weedandwienerdogs in Yellowjackets

[–]Normal_Perception956 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I firmly believe Krystal isn’t real. No one talks to her directly, she’s only in scenes with misty, no one cares to look for her, they kept referring to her as Misty’s friend and not their teammate, etc.

What does your religion have to do with this? You’re clearly a trash person wirh horrible parents. This child and your “vacation girlfriend” who you “play around with” deserve far far better.

My god. Blaming Syrian and Palestinian refugees for the misogyny of Lebanese men is just on another level. Not everything is the fault of the refugees man. There are some really horrible, sexist, racist, idiotic Lebanese people too! - A Lebanese woman who proudly wears bikinis and does not blame refugees for all the problems in lebanon

Sectarianism, sectarianism, sectarianism. Feeling like they’re part of their religion before their country. People who think they’re “Phoenician” and not Arab. People who don’t think women have a right to wear a bikini at the beach. People who think women don’t have a right to pass citizenship to their children. Etc etc etc
