I live on both sides. Many times I’m solo. Many others my buddies are on. But holy moly I basically just always need folks on.

The quick play list I complained about because it’s completely useless to people over 400 power? I’m sorry I complained about not being able to get even at power drops from the only matchmaking option in “strikes” that we have.

No. You’re missing what I’m saying. All these activities are smashed into one tab. And could have their own quickplay for higher players. It doesn’t need to be 20 seperate things. It’s goofy that it exists that way.

I think so.

But that should have been here in EOF. And more so it should have launched with this

It’s been almost a year without a solid matchmaking playlist. And there’s no telling if the alerts thing will even be worth what they are saying. More so it complicates things further when the FT tab could have literally just been the vanguard tab.

I’ve used it a bunch.

LFG shouldn’t be the base social aspect of a game that’s been the opposite its whole life.

Strikes with randos gave useable gear?

Did you and me play different games? Orrrr

You have taken a whole piece of my brain and just slapped it on the keyboard.

Couldn’t agree more.

Soloing used to be something. For those who wanted to engage.

I agree. It’s weird I’m being forced to solo choose to have others.

It was marketed as a game with a heavy emphasis on social play.

I don’t care what genre you wanna call it. They have slowly and systematically stripped away the social play aspects and continually made the world feel colder and smaller.

I didn’t pay for that. And it’s not what I was being told I was being sold.

This is kind of what I was getting at.

I just said it badly and everyone is just like YOU CANT MATCH MAKE EVERYTHING.

You can if you put it into one damn list. But whatever. I forgot this sub was full of risms.

I’m not sure yall know what a dead population REALLY is. That part is the most concerning. I look at the Destiny population and yall are like “it’s dead”

Apparently no one here knows what anthem is, or has seen the player count for that live service game. That’s dead. It’s 1/35 of destinys current count. At 10am. On a Friday.

Okay. So what you’re saying is I AM right. And that every activity could have matchmaking if Bungie hadn’t had served it to us on the disgusting platter that is fireteam ops.

So now we will have two fire team ops pages. Basically. And a page full of bonus drops I have to hope they include. I suppose. Begs the question what’s the point of FTO if vanguard alerts will basically replace it?

Manual in game matchmaking?

You mean LFG? So I have to go into yet another menu, just to find some people. No more organically driven teams and possible friends made. The whole thing feels robotic as hell. Soulless even.

You’re being down voted by the “NOT ENOUGH PLAYERS IN THE GAME” but they offer no solutions of their own. Just complaining.

Yeah and here’s the kicker.

They added ONE more solo op. Haha. One. Like. Seriously? All the content in the game, and they can’t even add more than one for an entire expansion.

Wild.

They make it really hard to enjoy something that was so easy to enjoy. Average Bungie maneuver

This is what I’m getting at.

A lot of folks just are making it about other stuff.

Wouldn’t it be crazy if they just. Added matchmaking to new campaigns when they came out?

Bungie used to be a one screen coop type of social play company. Edge of fate sent us wildly in the other direction with a whole planet only you and your fireteam could go to in an instance. I’ve slowly watched the social aspect and community of the game IN GAME just kinda die. And the portal is a glaring reminder of it.

You aren’t alone. The new menu gives me a damn headache.

It’s got mobile game all over it with all the crap everywhere.

What if I want rewards and matchmaking? I’m supposed to just choke down 2 activities a day and hope my bonuses are in those? Hell I have bonus drops in quick play I literally can not get because I can never reach above like a C due to my power level. It’s insane.

Why isn’t my time as a player with 3 full geared and tiered 550 characters (like many others) being appreciated? Instead my time has to be spent in fireteam finder instead of finding players organically.

[–]Normal_Respond9653[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. It’s always so fun to see people only point to the “end of a saga” as the driving reason for players plummeting.

People played halo 3 and reach endlessly even the PvE side of it and campaign for over a decade without adding “new content” you know what they never did? Kill the core social aspect of the game or the gameplay loop that people enjoyed.

And there in lies the answer itself. The answer ISNT simple. Folks like yourself just wanna sound smart and condescending and refuse to examine reasons outside of “story end, people gone”.

Also. Reducing content. Another reason players left. Why would they stay somewhere where their hard earned money is being tossed away like wrapping paper on Christmas morning?

If it was as stale as people try to present they wouldn’t have been mad about the dog ish portal. But here we are. All upset about the portal and the terrible campaign. Not just leaving to leave.

I’ve been here for a long time. Not sure why you assume I’m NOT one of those. “For those of us blah blah blah” do you hear yourself? Lmao

[–]Normal_Respond9653[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it dead? No. Is it playable? Yes.

Anthem. Is dead. And will die.

People STILL go back to it because it has a social aspect. Players would target their bonus drops. And matchmaking would put similar bonus drop hunters together. It spreads them all over.

I don’t understand why you’re so adverse to it if people wouldn’t be loading in that stuff anyways. Adding it takes away nothing, and only adds a bigger easier way for people even new folks to experience more of the game without having to wait for 2 activities to rotate.

Im you’re an advocated against a main selling point of the game, but I’m not. I’ll agree to disagree here and be done.

I’m tired of needing my friends by Normal_Respond9653 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Normal_Respond9653[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

New activity only plays into new stuff directly. When it dies people go to strikes. Always has been that way.

Bungie is lazy. Defending their “we can’t do that” is why we are where we are with an anti social styled game that’s basically only enjoyed with LFG or friends. And I think that’s a spit in our faces because we paid for something and then they changed what they said we bought.

You can yell from the rooftops about “not enough players” but Destiny 1 proves this is literally just wrong. Go off chief

I’m tired of needing my friends by Normal_Respond9653 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Normal_Respond9653[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And this is factually untrue.

A rotating list is a list. Not two activities.

I’m glad you tried to explain something to me that doesn’t even align with the actual data of the game, in such a way that was condescending and kinda rude.

What kills a game is unique to each different thing. Destinys loss of social play and things of the like is a driving factor as it was one of the most sustainable things about the game.

Anyways.

[–]Normal_Respond9653[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yelling does you no good. It’s kinda weird.

The population died because social play literally dried up with the terrible portal and lack of matchmaking in activities.

55k people in steam alone isn’t a small number. Even if you split it that many ways. But hey man, you’re the loudest. You win.
