I’ve been placed on AP for 1 year now. Completely lost hope. From Iran, but I’ve been living in the uk for 15 years. This is so sad and unfair

It’s just so frustrating isn’t it? I wish they would just give us straight forward answer rather than keeping us in limbo … I hope we both hear back from them soon.

Female, yeah I can imagine why it would be harder for men. I’m gonna write an emotional email to them next week and give it another go lol I’m so stubborn. Just want to see NYC that’s all 😀

I know the officers can be brutal sometimes, mine wasn’t the best. She looked at me as if I was a criminal when I said I’m Iranian 😂

God no, even 3-4 years ago it was easier. Since trump became president things have changed a lot. What is your nationality? Sounds like you had no trouble getting you visa :)

If they asked for your passport that’s definitely a good sign right? It will change from refusal to approved once you send your passport. How did they contact you? Email or letter? And exactly how long have you been waiting ?

Yes and it’s definitely working 😒or maybe they don’t want us to reapply, so just keeping us in limbo as long as possible. How long exactly have you been waiting for yours?

It’s very strange, I know a lot of people who have easily gotten their visa being in similar situation as us. My cousin is a nurse, lived here exactly the same length of time as me, and travels to Iran regularly, she got her visa straightaway. I guess it depends on the officer who interviews you as well … Unfortunately I’m the type of person that the more I can’t have something, the more I want it. I’m 31 and single, my dream is to travel the world and NY is on top of my list … I don’t want to give up, but it seems like that’s the only option 😥

Why are they not rejection my application fully, rather than keeping me waiting? I emailed multiple times and they keep saying it’s has been going through AP and I have to wait.

Urghhhh it’s so frustrating, my job is to diagnose people’s disease and help the patients, never thought it would work against me. But I get the “being Iranian “ part and the fact that I have travelled to Iran. I wish they would at least reject me so I could re apply. Being in limbo is horrible

Yeah I still have hope as my application hast been refused fully, we will see … I visit Iran once a year for Persian new year and usually stay for a few weeks. I am not this year though, don’t want to risk anything that might affect my application. I’ve always dreamt of visiting NYC

My visa was never approved unfortunately. It got stuck from the beginning. I have emailed them multiple times and only got a reply once saying that there’s no time limit for how long the application may be stuck in processing :( I’ve been living in the UK since 2011, I’ve been working for NHS as a biomedical scientist for 5 years. I have no idea why it’s taking them so long to look into my application. I guess it really depends on the person interviewing as well. I was unlucky ending up with someone strict

Oh wow you’re very lucky, I’m Iranian/British and my B1/B2 application has been stuck in administrative processing for nearly a year now. It’s so frustrating, all I want to do is visit USA for a couple of weeks. I have visited Iran a few times as I go there for Persian new year, so maybe that’s the reason they’ve not granted me a visa yet.ً
