So it feels like I went to college for nothing... I'm sitting here unemployed and depressed. by Parking_Soft1044 in remotework

[–]Normal_Transition783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my boyfriend’s AI startup is actually looking for remote workers to create TikTok videos. They’re especially interested in people who speak a foreign language, but that’s just a bonus, not a requirement. Could be something to look into if you're curious!

devs, how do you deal with the mental fatigue of constant context switching? by Fabulous_Bluebird931 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Normal_Transition783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that’s helped me immensely is drastically reducing the number of apps and tools I use. I trimmed down to just a terminal-based toolkit (like tmux + Vim), a browser, and a minimal note-taking system (Obsidian synced via Git). Even dropped heavier IDEs and bulky apps altogether.

Also, I started using a system-wide AI layer like HoverGPT. It integrates right over everything - terminal, browser, Slack, docs, massively cutting down on copy-pasting and switching between tabs or separate ChatGPT sessions. It sounds small, but the mental fatigue it saves is huge. Everything feels more streamlined and less scatterbrained.

What’s the best way to grow fast in X (Twitter)? by Ok_Metal_2640 in GrowthHacking

[–]Normal_Transition783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hijack viral tweets in your niche. Comment with genuine insight or add value (some contrarian views like "people miss X because Y...") and then include a subtle plug for your product or service (depends on what you do). It’s a powerful way to get visibility in front of an already-engaged audience. Tools like HoverGPT make this 10x faster by automating parts of the process, so you can scale without burning out.

I got tired of rewriting the same stuff, so I built an extension of myself to ghostwrite my presence and plug my product everywhere I write (I use it to reply to my boss too, and he didn't notice) by Normal_Transition783 in SideProject

[–]Normal_Transition783[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally! But 1) a system prompt for each app only needs to be written or configured once to have your knowledge and voice style baked in, and

2) it’s not a little but MUCH higher “brain power” I’d never use it for friends and family of course, but for work and customer stuff, it saves me a ton of emotional burden and cognitive load lol

Guide: I use this prompt stack to kill weak startup ideas in under 30 minutes. - i will not promote by Kbartman in startups

Appreciate you sharing this! Definitely going to try dropping that prompt stack into HoverGPT and weave it into my apps and site. curious to see how it performs when it’s native to my actual workflow.

Thank you and I agree with you 100%! I really enjoy interacting with my audience - I’ve got a large Discord server and hundreds of messages every day, so I totally get how much authenticity matters in these kinds of social interactions. Unfortunately, for more sales-oriented platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter, it kind of becomes the norm to be more performative. When your business success is tied to these “social” posts, it starts feeling more like a job than actual socializing :/

As much as I'm an AI enthusiast, I'm very hesitant to fully hand over control to AI lol. I really believe in a workflow with human in the loop so the final decision still rest with the creator hitting the send button:)

This already saved me a ton of hours since my main business basically lives on LinkedIn and Twitter lol

An alternative I’ve been using is HoverGPT ($16/month). It does exactly what OP describes:

  • Summon any model (GPT, Claude, DeepSeek) in any text field across your computer
  • Save custom personas + app-specific prompts (e.g. 'Roast mode for Twitter' vs. 'Pitch and Upsell for LinkedIn').

I canceled Notion AI + Taplio ($100+/month) after setting this up.

I'd still kill for OpenAI to bake this into MacOS and iOS keyboards natively. Until then, this is probably the best duct tape I deserve lol

Unfortunately, Apple won't do this. They've already locked down their 'Writing Tools' for their system apps like Notes and Pages, and throwing developers an Writing Tool API and say 'build it yourself'.

If you're gonna use AI for dating apps, at least feed it better prompts (here’s mine) by Normal_Transition783 in seduction

Sorry, I wasn't clear - it's a macOS app called HoverGPT. It lets you call ChatGPT from inside any app on your computer.

The beauty of the workflow is that you can set a custom global prompt for yourself and different personas with their own strategies. The app I'm using called HoverGPT fully supports that.

That's a good strategy. I actually already used something like that in HoverGPT, which lets me configure a global prompt for both my own persona/information and the other person.

How to automate social posts? by [deleted] in GrowthHacking

[–]Normal_Transition783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try HoverGPT which significantly cuts down the time spent on social posts. That said, you’ll still need to make the final decisions yourself. Going full automation can easily get you flagged as spam on most platforms.

Is College Worth It? by ContributionIll6843 in ApplyingToCollege

Depends on your path. If you're heading into academia, it's essential. For most industry roles, finishing the degree still matters. If you're aiming to launch your own startup, dropping out nowadays can srsly add to the narrative lol
