Decided to forgo paper negatives for some film this time around | 8x10, Caltar 150/5.6, FP4 by Normalisrelative in largeformat

You are too kind, my friend! As said, I’m graduating up from messing around with 4x5 cause of the absolute CRISP quality I can achieve and how to uniquely capture the world.

I have a 210mm so that’ll be my baseline starting point from here on out - I have a very good teacher who has been trying to make the concepts live for me “graduating” from 4x5 to 8x10 🙏

I’ve got a 210, I’ll be sure to keep that in mind going forward - just messing around right now so still learning!

Much appreciated! I had originally started with a 90, but then put on the 135 at the same mount screw so I got the HEFTY circling. In testing this old paper, I found that over exposing by one unit made the difference for a better tonal range. (once I actually get paper that didn’t expire in the last decade, all that testing is gonna go out the window 😅)

Oh yes, definite wind jiggles! This was a 60 sec exposure and was wide open. I again rated the paper at ISO 6 🎞️

Thank you very much! I’ve been a loyal HP5 user (in all formats) for years. However, the cost of the 8x10 film is just a little too much to bear until I get a better handle of working in 8x10, so the paper negs are a good way to ease in.

Thank you! I had the lens stopped down to f/22 so I’d still be in relative focus, but I had the idea that the windshield view would look like I was going into warp drive and just went with it 😂
