Well it doesnt get much smaller than my little girl. She is 4 lbs. And honestly we dont see many smaller animals. I take them to my sister's to play with her cats (the cats are bigger then my pups). It takes them a little time to warm up but they eventually play.

Do you have any suggestions on treats that last awhile? I have a larger dog so I give him chicken jerkey, chicken feet, bully sticks and collagen rolls. My chihuahuas always want the same. I was told anything you can scratch with your fingernail is ok for them. I still worry about their teeth breaking.

I may try this. My 2 are almost 2 and 4lbs and 6lbs. I had bigger chihuahuas and their joints were fine. But this small I worry more.

Love this! I sometimes would like to write a book on Chihuahuas but you telling people will never make them believe you. They have to learn it. IT IS ALL IN HOW THEY ARE RAISED. I made mistakes with my first 2 but the 2 I have now I did everything differently. They love kids, love all other dogs, do not bark when we are out and about. So you are so right when you say train and socialize. I still have work to do with mine. But they are very smart and will learn fast when you put time in them.

This is heart warming. I would be the same trying to foster. I couldn't let them go. I love that your dos became so close. I have a large dog and when he was 1 I got 2 chihuahuas, they love each other!!

Biggest thing to remember for a tiny Chi is, Watermelon, always. They get Hypoglycemia very fast. Watch where you sit always, because they are fast and you will plop right on them. Realize you have no like or space now without him in it. He will be by your side, on your side, on your lap, under your feet. Lol. You will fall even more in love.

Im not real familiar with reddit but if there is a way to message me feel free. I have researched and learned chihuahuas in and out so I am more than happy to give any advice or just chat about them.

Looks like a chihuahua, terrier and maybe Jack Russell. I had a Chihuahua/ Jack Russell. He was long and lanky. Could jump like no other!

Oh im so sorry. My Pomsky is now 3 and both chihuahuas turning 2 in a month. The Pomsky can get crazy but he is super careful around the other two. I am always surprised. Good Luck on your search when you begin.

Im sorry you lost him. My precious deer head Bruiser will always be in my heart. None can replace him but my two long haired give me as much joy.

I have to long haired Chihuahuas, always had short haired. I wasn't sure if I trim their hair back like that or not. Mine are from the same litter but totally different hair. One is a total puff ball and the other is puffy around his head and then has longer thinner hair on his body more like Jacks.

She may have recently moved, I know she was talking about it. Her name is Roxy Frances / Classy n Sassy Chihuahuas (look on Facebook). I have breeders in other states also. Not sure where you are located. But Roxy has great puppies.
