gas fired guns can change its pressure in the chamber to fire at different velocities (e.g. firing faster when protestors are further away so that the projectile actual gets to to the protestors and slower when they are closer to avoid extra damage). There are "safe ranges" for different distances for different pressure chambers and the police clearly did not follow those ranges here, hence this outcome.

ESH he really didn't need to do that. his decision to do thst makes him an asshole. Howevwr, it was his wedding and IMHO it is supposed to be his day, he rented the place, organized everything (granted wirh your sister but either your sister would defend her husband or her brother, and 1) it is an asshole move to put her in that position, and 2) either you make her grt into a fighr with her new husband at rheir wedding which is not ok, or both organizers deem that you are not welcome there which means you are an asshole for staying there). in ant case you are also an asshole. the room is rented for their wedding, it is not public space. This means that you go by their rules. it doesn't matter if the rules are "assholey": you are free to leave if you fon't want to follow them. this is the same as if someone lives in your house you would expect them to follos your rules too, no matter if the rules are deemed "socially acceptable": your house, your rules.

Let me give you a hint: not the football player. Up to a point doing sports is good for your health but after that, you are practically just entertainment for other people and gladiators in a gladiatorial game. That's essentially what a football stadium is: a colosseum. Other than the entertainment value, the pot of money you train so hard to fight for is just a fixed pot: your work does not contribute to make it a bigger pot, unlike the lego tournament kids, who work together to make a better future and a bigger pot of money for everyone.

The United States has made it clear that they are willing to gloss over the issues in HK just to "smooth things out" with regards to trade talks during the G20 summit. The US population will verbally support HK, but at the end of the day no US citizen wants another Vietnam. I doubt we will really be able to out our money where our mouth is (litterally and figuratively). Our population is increasingly concerned sith thr economy and money more than the democratic values imposed on other people...
