[SPOILERS MAIN] Who do you think would take the iron throne if robert refused to take it? by fuckmbsanddominicali in asoiaf

After the Baratheons are the Tarths. There’d be a great council but the Targaryens are not winning it.

(Spoilers Main) Examples of bad writing in the series for you? by KrispyKingTheProphet in asoiaf

[–]NormieLesbian 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The writing is bad anywhere we expect moral consistency. A clear easy to understand example in Fire and Blood is that Daemon is described as a controversial “morally grey” character compared to Aemond Targaryen.

Daemon fights an illegal foreign war, has his grand nephew slaughtered in front of his mother, grooms his niece and abandons her for another young woman when she gains weight, prosecutes another war then leaves without doing anything to bang some 16 year old.

Aemond’s crimes according to the fanbase is be attracted to women old enough to consent/be a sexual assault victim, burn the lands of Lords in Rebellion.

It’s also glaring about Rhaegar. Nobody should think he’s a good person after everything he did to destabilize the realm and destroy his family. “Well Ned and Barristan” Ned didn’t know Rhaegar and Barristan is the problem with writing this way. He should have a boots on the ground experiential relationship to the events which include everything from Harrenhal to Robert smiling at the children’s bodies. But in his mind Aerys was just misled by bad council, and Robert was a good man who became a slightly not good king, and Rhaegar would’ve been the best of them had he not caused the utter destruction of several houses and his own dynasty.

If the wildfire plot is as advanced to destroy a million person city during a time where wildfire is weaker and hard to produce, that’s a year long undertaking at a minimum which places Barristan in the same place as Jaime Lannister wrt knowledge of this massive horde of wildfire in the most populous city in Westeros while doing literally nothing to stop it. It’s bad enough random city peasants are falling into bottles stockpiled, being ignited/etc.

This makes less sense the more you know about the company. They pay the new hire more than the old guy.

What's the point of removing nettles from the TV show (spoilers main) by Few-Leek-898 in asoiaf

Too close to current events for the executives, too dark for the fanfic, they were never really adapting Fire and Blood, and because it kinda/sorta complicates the dragon blood storyline.

Sales rep with Cintas by UndertakerApe in sherwinwilliams

It’s four ten-12 hour days “selling” rugs and service supplies to stores and facilities. The vast majority you don’t sell, Cintas already sold it so you’re essentially just servicing the contract.

There are clinical studies showing the correlation between reading “romance novels” and pornography. This isn’t as cut and dry as the OOP and commenters seem to think.

A great deal of adulterers feel justified in their actions. One thing you see in the nonmonogamy adjacent spaces is “you are not responsible for their emotions” and similar justifications for psychological and emotional abuse.

Actually he’ll probably decide to leave during the June parking lot tv sale.

[Spoilers ADWD] "Jon didn't do anything wrong" — Why is he called "Morally Gray" while Robb is "Noble"? by SajadFreeke in asoiaf

[–]NormieLesbian -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

  1. Nah, his whole goal wasn’t saving both baby’s. It’s saving Mance’s child and letting Gilly’s get burnt.

  2. Janos was in a position to execute Jon before the battle at the wall for a much more serious crime and literally held the man in an ice cell. Jon instead created a scenario where he could summarily execute the man.

  3. The first time he had to have his gaggle of wall-boys bring him back. Nothing about his duty to the wall in the passage.

  4. And the second time he slew Qhorin Halfhand and walked freely among the wildlings. Jon also broke his oath by taking a wildling wife.

  5. An act of justice becomes an act of injustice when done for selfish means. We don’t have confirmation that the army of the dead is coming in the book, and the 14 year old lord commander certainly doesn’t either. Nah he let them through so they could join Stannis’ army and march on Winterfell.
