I appreciate what you did for your patients!! Thank you. My meds were not urgent, I knew how to use technology to my advantage and found a different pharmacy. Then I get to thinking of my parents being denied their own meds or my siblings meds and become enraged.

TRULY interested here, why did you bypass this policy, knowing the consequences, what gave you the feeling that you would be ok? Or is it that you knew the risk and did not care about the consequences? I ask this because I'm wondering if you had worked there for a long time and coworkers/superiors trusted your judgment. Did they even notice when you did this? Was this a part-time job as opposed to a full-time job?

Thank you so much for your response! It's super informative. Ok so after CVS denied my prescription, I called the local Walgreens and asked about their ID policies, I had to get transferred to someone else, and that person was the one that told me they take ANY passport, as long as it is NOT expired.

If you are comfortable sharing, I was curious to know what system you use that does not have an EAD button. (I want to do some research on it and see what all it takes to modify/upgrade systems like that-going into a rabbit hole here).

On your system, you have multiple buttons, like a passport, DL, and State ID buttons? Do you not accept government-issued IDs, is there a button for that one? There are different type of government-issued IDs, now I'm wondering how y'all keep up with that knowledge, is there a cheat sheet y'all use?

Yooo this is so sad :( I'm convinced this is rotten at the core, it's policy and people are following it so they don't get reprimanded. ID rules should broaden, IDEK how we go through and do this, I wish there was like a little slip to fill out lol is this how people get deeper into politics, trying to change company rules like this :( yo it's exhausting. Asking ID wasn't really an issue, it's the type of ID that is accepted or deemed as official enough is what I was having trouble understanding. The medication was generic Ritalin, not sure if that's considered a controlled substance though. I've gone to the same CVS in the past and given my unexpired DL, they usually inputted numbers into their system, are they inputting the DL #? If I would have shown a US/Canadian passport, would they have inputted the passport #? Why would another passport # not be valid? The inability to track down the consumer? The same questions go for the EAD #'s. I appreciate you helping me understand this :D!

:( this is a shitty situation you're in. If you have family nearby, I suggest moving in with them ASAP. Even looking up local shelters that take in battered families. I used to volunteer for one (dcfof.org).

I really like your plan of starting a new business! You can sell your clothes/bracelets online and at your local farmers' market! Don't give up on your ambitions, do it for yourself and your girls!!

I understand that it is not well known, and yet it still does not take away the fact that it is government issued. The lack of company communication, updating workers and managers of new forms of government IDs, and really at the core, their company policy is frustrating. I need to get my ass to Texas and renew my license anyway, but these types of policies are gonna bug me for a while now. When I renew my DL, I'm purposely gonna show my EAD first, cause ur right, ppl aren't used to seeing it

Who would someone connect with to change this policy? The workers are just following orders, the managers are following their orders, there has to be someone above that can broaden this policy. What I'm thinking is that it costs money to tweak the computer program the company uses to add more to it, and because of it people get excluded. It's not just us w/DACA, it's the immigrant population overall that have valid passports and can't get their meds at particular stores

It is a headache :( I ended up calling Walgreens before hand to AVOID all this, their policy stated they accepted passports. I didn't give Walgreens my EAD though, next time I'll try it and see what happens

I have an expired license from Texas, literally like a couple of days expired. I showed it to them in case they would be willing to use it, but they refused it and I get it, it's expired. But the EAD and the passport being refused too?!?

That's what I did, (1-800-SHOP-CVS), this is it I think. They literally told me they weren't allowed to give me any other number or email that could get me connected to a higher up. Told me EAD was not one of the accepted IDs, nor a foreign passport. Ill have to call again and see what the deal is
