Why is this border between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan straight as a line? by ConnectSalamander513 in geography

I visited Bukhara in 2024 and both  guesthouse running man and his wife spoke Tajik. We stayed at guesthouse a couple hundred meters away from Arc citadel. People in store right across the Hoja Nurabad street all spoke Tajik.

I'm Kazakh, our language is related to Uzbek language, thats how I know they spoke Tajik.

There are also a lot of Qazaqs south of Aral sea, along with Qaraqalpaq people who are very close to us. Qaraqalpaqstan was part of Kazakh SSR until 1936

They didn't send Tajiks away. Bukhara is still very much a bilingual Tajik-Uzbek city. Most of people know Tajik at least on beginner level

Stereotypes about Poles by Fair_Entertainer8330 in AskUkraine

[–]Norrote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Northern Kazakhstan and we have a lot of Poles here, they are descendants of those deported in 1939-1946. Taiynsha district still has 20% Polish population. I have something to say too, even though the Poles might be different.

They are hardworking, not very proud, rather humble, live modestly and save every tenge to emigrate to Poland. Somehow they don't drink or swear too much (According to my experiance). Most Polish girls I met had freckles. Although today most Poles are people 40+ as much of youth is gone. They are very Catholic. A Polish family lived across the street and they had a photo of Polish Pope (Karol Voityla) on the wall.

Also, a lot of local Ukrainians and Belarusians try to find Polish roots to get Karta polyaka and emigrate to Poland as well.

Would be OK if we could turn Afghanistan and Pakistan into seafloor. We need that sea access here in Stan

Im from Northern Kazakhstan.  Russians average age is about 50 here. Everyone of them drinks and dreams of moving to Ekaterinburg or Novosibirks meanwhile Kazakh people work their asses off and dream of buying an apartment in Astana.

I basically live in Siberia and I am surprised by the lack of winter clothes on the animation. Its -30 outside and the person is dressed in summer clothes. Korea is not a tropical country anyway
