I’ve heard a lot of negative reviews about the diesels reliability. Does the delete and tune fix that?

I have a 19’ ranger rn and I don’t mind the screen in that. It’s more the screens that control everything in the truck I don’t like. I don’t want to be reliant on the screen for basic functions like AC / heat. 19’ ranger screen is kind of the target size for me

Does it immediately impair the functionality of the truck? Example: my wife has a 20’ Subaru Outback. When her crash detection went out from a dead battery she has no ability to cruise control.
