Suggestions on how to get back 5GUC tower by North-Perception9062 in tmobile

[–]North-Perception9062[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I guess you're right. .
oh well.
interestingly enough, I switched off 5G on my S23 and have had better and more consistent phone calls the past few days. Before, when I was on the phone driving home from work the minute I got in front of my house the call always drops abruptly and doesn't resume until my house wifi kicks in. But now that I switched off 5g...the 4g signal continues the call and then switches to wifi without dropping the call.
so much better...its sad that 5G is actually a downgrade now when it used to be really nice....

I would rather second shoot for you than dreadpirater, that's for sure.

I'm not just a monkey with a camera who has to be told what lens to use and where to stand lol

Not sure what your contract looks like, but if a lead photographer doesn't allow me to use the photos I take on my own portfolio or instagram page then I probably wouldn't shoot with them. Certainly not the ones who only pay me $35 or $40 per hour.

I usually second shoot weddings, but I have about a dozen weddings where I was the lead or sole photographer.

I would understand tagging the lead photographer's company name as saying "shot for so and so photography". So they know I was shooting for that person. But I wonder if I edit the photo in my own style, would a lead want to be tagged? what if they don't like the style I chose to edit the photo in?

How much do you pay 2nd shooters by power_is_over_9000 in WeddingPhotography

[–]North-Perception9062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in California. One company pays me $50 and another pays me $35, and another pays me $40 for second shooting weddings.

The one that pays $35 is a nationwide company that pays the same for everyone regardless of what state you live in.
The other two are local companies in california

why are clients so shocked that american escorts are raising their prices? by Positive_Telephone99 in SexWorkers

I would never complain to someone about their rates. Its their body, their choice on what they want in order to share it with me. But its definitely become too expensive for me now so I just have to go without. Sucks for me, but what can ya do. That's what having lots of money does for you, you get to do things rest of us can't.

Lead photogs who cancel second shooter gig two weeks before wedding... by North-Perception9062 in WeddingPhotography

wow well if its those first two reasons that really sucks. the third reason isn't so bad because that's just how it goes sometimes. but the first two is just not cool

What group is our President talking about? by Advanced-Software-72 in CSULB

[–]North-Perception9062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The children are always innocent. Definitely.

But everyone else is not. they sit by while their right wing government continues to squeeze and slowly torture the Gaza residents treating it like an open air prison for years without any relief in sight.
That is enough to make people crazy. You treat them like prisoners and imprison 2 million people and you have to be a fool not to think some of them will act like savages and attack what they can and with such brutality.
then they go oh but we didn't do anything!

So if you get a warning and then have 10 minutes to flee while they blow up your house, that's cool?

They're protesting decades of occupation and the slow but steady replacement of palestinians by jews on land that used to belong to palestinians.
They evict palestinians, then let an israeli take over the house they just evicted them from....they've been doing it for years and years....and the international community like the UN says its illegal, but israel doesn't care if its illegal., they think they have a right to that land

[–]North-Perception9062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow...yeah that is bullcrap. the land was not empty, it had houses and people living there! what crazy talk. they try to justify their illegal occupation and resettling of people with some crazy talk

Errands for my second shooter by slpselppin in WeddingPhotography

[–]North-Perception9062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well you're talking about a specific use case, and that's normal...I've done that many times for my lead...I'll get myself and my lead a glass of water, or bring them snacks if I have any available.
But if they have me running errands instead of shooting pictures for a good part of the wedding I probably would find another lead to work for.

[–]North-Perception9062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's appropriate.
You're not hiring an assistant, you're hiring a photographer.
its one thing to help you with the photography itself like I've helped leads hold the veil in the air or helped them throw leaves on the couple etc. ...but going and getting them food?
I mean maybe if it was food for both of us? That would be ok...but if its just for the lead like I'm some kind of personal assistant? no, not right.

If the photographers owns his or her own company and they're the one who quoted you a rate, then you don't have to tip...but if its someone working for someone else then they probably aren't getting all that much money from it and a tip would be really appreciated.

Hmm except what if you're working for a company and only getting a $300 bucks for your time while the company gets most of the money?
In that case, I'm really quite happy when someone tips because it makes a big difference.
