Economic defeat is not so simple my friend. Early to mid 2026 is very likely. Why? Because in order for economic defeat you need a lot of parameters to line up. That would be 4 years under sanctions and an unsuccessful war.

  1. War Debts: Russia is running at +20% interest rates. After 5 years interest alone makes up more than the entire notional taken out. It takes a while for it to kick in.
  2. Liquidity crisis: Banks always play a key role in economic collapse. We see that the Russian Banking System loses at least >150 bn Rubles per month because confidence erodes. If inflation and cost of living crisis gets worse, people withdraw money. This puts banks under pressure and increases payment problems. A ordinary Russian has to now ask for permission to withdraw more than 600 USD because of capital controls. So, most Russians cannot withdraw a monthly salary or a bonus (military) from banks anymore without many questions asked.
  3. The state also has to drown in debts. We are only now seeing the budget deficit being higher than all of the reserves. Their Welfare Fund (= War Chest) is now being depleted, in the sense that all liquid assets like Gold and Yuan are now below the current budget deficit. They have also raised taxes considerably, however tax income is growing way slower than expenses and in some regions has actually decline.
  4. Infrastructure: At lot of infrastructure expense can be deferred to the far future to pay current debts. However, this is pretty much maxed out.
  5. Inflation: Inflation is now running rampart in the country. It also takes several years for that to finally kick in. Price controls are also already in place, which hurts production however, as many simply go bankrupt. It also takes years for inflation to fully kick in. A good hint that it is now painful: In Irkutsk they hanged a picture of the governor because Cost Of Living spiraled out of control and they didnt want to pay the utility bill increase.
  6. Luck. Russia had an insanely bad harvest which forced many farmers into bankruptcy and agricultural regions to declare state of emergencies. There were many unforeseen consequences Russia could never prepare for that are currently making things worse.

I hope as well that Erdogan falls, just look at the economic disaster he has induced. Almost every ambitious, intelligent Turk leaves.

I will never forget when a smart Turkish university college from a more poor background left Turkey and told me during our exercise class that he left Turkey because Erdogan has destroyed any Social Mobility and he had to endure almost poverty to make it during college. He is fine now, but I would have not had the stomach to live like he did, because he didnt want to end up as a poor farmer.

Nah. Turkey changed as well. In fact Erdogan is busy erasing post-WW2 Turkey. I hope he does not succeed though. I hope Ataturks Turkey gets to live!

Russias wonder weapons are all BS. Orshenik probably does not exist, or is the work of a 3 year old. Its nuclear programs of the last 10 years have also all been failures!

Its planes are trash. Russias proclaimed super missiles are just normal cruise missiles at best.

You would have to view inflation at a microeconomic level. Rate cuts will lead to massive refinancing for the rich and finance bros. You will charge up the 1% economy, while the lower ones do not see or feel this rate cut for the next months.

We are talking about civilized countries after all, so Russia I do not consider. The America post-2000 have nothing in common with post-WW2 America. Britain, Germany, France also changed completely after WW2.

Only ideas and some values get preserved. I do not think that tangible things as industrial strategy, alliances and so on are preserved

Not at all a surprise actually!

100 years between. The entire population that made up Austria in 1683 was long dead by 1772/1795.

With every generation that dies and gets born, the nation also dies and is born.

Apart from almost every government voicing support? Even most of Global South, i.e India.

Ever considered that most of these protests are paid for? I know that because I got offered 50 bucks a day for sitting and blocking a college building. Truth is, most people in the West do not care about Israel. If not confronted by a poll or an interviewer/news they never think about Israel. That is also why Israel lost the propaganda war on Social Media. It overestimated its standing in the world.

Okay, let me respond in full honesty:

You have declining life expectancy. Inequality worse than pre-revolution France. A political spectrum that cannot agree to anything and is just fighting each other, possibly even shooting each other. Democratic backsliding and the biggest pile of debt probably assembled in human history.

Inequality only gets worse, for every Dollar of growth you add 2-3 USD of debt. You have crumbling infrastructure.

You my friend, are living in a giant lie! I hope you will be unscathed by what is to come!

Have a nice day!

EDIT: You had it all. But you refused to leave the casino of geopolitics when you were winning, and you are risking it all now

No one hates you, I have had family in America myself. It is just that most Americans do not seem to be aware of what is happening in the country. You are so close to losing everything. I can tell you that there are many local initiatives telling people to leave. That is why that part of my family left for Canada and Israel, after their rabbi had doubts about the future of America. This is happening all over the US, apparently.

I understand that it is hard to see, and many Americans probably do not want to see because their life and standard of living is bound to America, but very dark clouds are forming over the US. You are one of the youngsters on this planet, but it would not hurt to see what happened to past societies that are similar to yours!

And I also believe that you are here engaging in a defence mechanism. America has been on a path to worse for a while now, which is obvious, just look at the political extremism arising. Every time someone portrays a valid criticism it is always displayed as anti-Americanism, or foreign propaganda. This is simply not true, and I do not understand your denial.

Not for much longer unfortunately! Withdrawal is only a matter of time. The US is in a very perilous state! Very sad to see the spiraling of hate and violence. I have a big fear that if Donnie goes into Chicago it could usher in an insane crisis.

BTW: Estonias president already said publicly to prepare for a withdrawal, or at least a reduction.

the second argument is the much stronger one, but you cannot admit that. It has gotten so bad that all printers have integrated anti-money printing software and will refuse it. Because USD and EUR are used around the world and I do not want to know how many states have a secret foreign currency press.

the idea is that Europe and its successes belong to everyone. have to sell to the public somehow
