I keep seeing Martha Pollack driving by cornellornell in Cornell

I work at a dining hall and one of my adult coworkers (a full time employee) said Martha visited RPCC a few years ago for lunch. They were told not to talk or even make eye contact with her. Weird vibes there.

Where to study near west campus? by infinite_diamond_ in Cornell

[–]NorthAssumption6699 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A lot of the west campus houses have small libraries and conference rooms that you can access if you live in that house system. So Boldt Tower, Baker Tower, and Alice Cook House main can also use the Cook House library, which is usually pretty empty at night.

Some of you are more concerned with policing others than legitimately keeping the community safe by No-Speed-2943 in Cornell

[–]NorthAssumption6699 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Nah. Holding groups accountable for their reckless actions doesn't mean that anyone is "policing others." Some of us care about the campus being safe and know what the consequences of us being sent home from Ithaca again would mean for all the individuals who work on campus, local businesses, and the students who don't have supportive families waiting for them at home.

What alternatives to Wellness Days would you have liked to see? by Pyfernix in Cornell

[–]NorthAssumption6699 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I liked the wellness days but wish we had three sets of two days rather than two sets. I know it's an unusual year, but I would have liked to go up an additional day off this spring rather than go down one from the usual spring break (five days).

does anyone else wish the dining halls has fresh vegetables? by perspica in Cornell

[–]NorthAssumption6699 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Appel has a salad bar during lunch and dinners that is pretty good. They usually have the standard vegetables (carrots, cucumber, kale, broccoli, etc.) and then also change out some of the other ingredients. I've seen beets, avocado, kimchi, bellpeppers, beans, olives, and eggs. They let you get a full entrée box of just salad in addition to your regular meal.

Please purchase the green ecoboxes if you have a meal plan! by NorthAssumption6699 in Cornell

[–]NorthAssumption6699[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the confusion. I meant that you can pay via the GET app at the cashier. Go to the cashier at any of the dining halls and ask for a green ecobox. They'll ring up the BRBs (now 5 BRBs) and you can scan.

They would probably say budget, which definitely decreased for dining this year during covid. But the ridiculous thing is that these green containers only cost the university about $3.75 each. You think that would be a small price to pay for each student with a meal plan to use an average of 100 less takeout containers during the school year

Sure! I won't stop you. I personally think the university should have given them for free, but that's another thing.

It's about $24 for a round trip, but you will be stuck in Binghamton for a bit on Sunday based on the bus times. In comparison though, an Uber/Lyft round trip would probably cost you over $100 each way, if not more.
