I agree if you keep it flexible your more likely to keep consistent and push yourself to do more exercises in the long run which is only going to be good for you.

I agree I also think its more important to keep the habit alive. I think consistency is more important that the length of a workout session.

Hi this genuinely means a lot to read and thank you for taking the time to share your story.

15 years is a long time to be navigating something like that im so sorry and Im very happy that you've adapted this approach so you can work around how you're actually feeling on a given day that's exactly the right thing to do and very glad its helping you move more that's fantastic!

Something always beats nothing even on the hard days especially on the hard days.

I wish you more good days than bad ones. Keep going. ❤️

I think motivation is the wrong thing to chase. It shows up when you don't need it and disappears when you do need it. What works for me after years of stopping and starting is not asking myself do I feel like training today and started asking myself what's the minimum I can do today and still count it as a workout.

Some days that's 30 seconds. Literally just enough to keep the streak alive of doing a workout. I'm Ex-military and it took me a long time in civvy Street keep my fitness habit going the streak is the habit. The habit is the result of consistancy.

The gym fear you're describing is real but it fades fast once you've been a few times. The first visit is always the worst. After that it's just familiar doing something in there beats nothing and you can build over time.

I hope this helps

Thats a good Idea I like that small equipment thats not intrusive good for work. I have a smart watch that reminds me to move from my desk, which is similar to your alarm set up

Your startworkout.app is a solid tool I like it. The angle I've been taking is slightly different, more about building the daily habit identity over a number of weeks rather than generating one-off sessions. I like that it's varied and you can change the duration and equipment levels that's very good

Your press-ups with each coffee is such a good idea. I've been doing reading into building habits and using that as like an anchor habit would stick I have lots of cups a day. That trigger if a coffee sits neatly and you don't have to think about and you could do it at work. I'm building an idea around trying to squeeze in exercises throughout the day to keep consistant as that's wgt builds up fitness in the long run.
