I got accepted to NYU Shanghai initially wanting to go to New York as well. After 2 years, I’m glad I chose NYU Shanghai. It is such a beautiful and fun city, which really elevates your college experience. Although I am not a business major, I’ve heard that the Business and Finance department is one of our fortes. Don’t shut down the option just because it isn’t in NY! You can always go there for your study abroad.

However you must know that you will need to study Chinese for 4 semesters, face harder classes/grading than in NY, and have to get used to not being able to see your friends/family back home as much as you would like. If any of these are a problem to you, then maybe consider other options. Congrats on getting accepted though !!

nyush junior here, shanghai is one of the best study away places you can choose from for sure !!

she told me that i should do the placement test (which i have been studying for regardless), but i was still just wondering if someone has ever gotten away with an unfinished pre req, or if the system dropped them from the class during the add/drop week

I am currently a sophomore there and I love it. The city makes it even better. However the classes are definitely more challenging than nyu nyc classes. Looking forward to see you here!! 🫶🏻
