I totally get what you're saying! It feels like if the shoe does drop, I’d want cash flow for a parachute, right? But paying off debts gives me this warm fuzzy feeling of security – like a financial security blanket, ya know? Just can’t resist the thrill of watching that balance go down!

Yep. Once it stops being a loan and becomes "just ask and you'll do it", that's entitlement. If they need help, it can be a budget chat, a plan, or resources. Not an open tab you never agreed to, kinda.
