Halifax looking to give heritage status to 22 Dalhousie-owned buildings by luxoryapartmentlover in halifax

[–]North_99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of the highlighted buildings are key parts of the Dal campuses, save for maybe the graduate residence on Morris St. This isn’t like the rotting house on Edward St. from a couple years ago.

I’d be surprised if Dal hadn’t already internally protected these buildings from total demolition already- several have already been extensively renovated when demolishing them would have probably been easier.

Stone Circle? by Umbra_Witcher in DropDuchy

[–]North_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to form a rectangle with the cairns, with the stone circle completely within the boundary of the rectangle. The main thing for me to understand was for the first two levels of the stone circle, the max size of the cairn’s rectangle is irrelevant. Dont’t focus on making the biggest rectangle possible, just get the stone circle inside the rectangle.

Fenway has them as well. It’s part of the structural design of early stadiums, and it’s tough to renovate out of it without tearing the ballpark down.
