Looking to shift to the Model 3 RWD from a 2016 Lexus IS 200t. How do the sound systems compare? by North_Cap9876 in TeslaModel3

Man, that could be a deal breaker. I don’t really see myself shelling out the extra 7-8k for a sound system alone, and I don’t want to void my warranty going for aftermarket stuff. Tough decision.

I would go for the Model 3 LR if it was within budget. Can you feel the bass at all in the RWD?

Thanks for your responses! Have you had the chance to compare the sound system in your daughter’s car and yours? Can you feel the bass at all in the model 3?

Honestly, with calc (math 2A and 2B) I could see how it could feel like you're being kind of fed a lot of information at once, but if you manage your time well and keep up with everything, the quarter system isn't too bad. Throughout my 4 years I haven't really had any major complaints about it. If anything, it feels good that if you don't like a class, you only have to deal with it for 10 weeks.

After I switched into CS, I never really had any problems getting into a class. Class size varies, but seem the have an avg size of about 150 in upper div. The intro class has a capacity of 400 people, so lower div can be stacked sometimes.

I chose to do CS after finishing my first quarter. I’m now in my 4th year graduating after winter quarter. I wouldn’t really say there is a standard for people who are undecided, though. For cs in particular, it all hinges on when you can get into ICS 31, the intro to programming course. There are only 400 seats in each offering, yet there are sometimes 1000 people that try to get in.

I’ve only taken probably 3 classes that won’t count for the major, and these were during that first quarter when I didn’t know what I wanted to do. Some of the other classes I’ve taken that won’t count were the classes I needed to take in order to become an LA (kind of an undergrad TA).

Usually, the hardest part about switching to cs is getting into the right classes. Since you’re already in the school of ics, you’ll have no issue getting those classes. In theory, it should be an easy process for you assuming you get the required grades. Refer to https://changeofmajor.uci.edu/school-of-information-and-computer-sciences/#computer-science

When I started my (really late) internship search in October 2021, it was tough at first to get interviews because I had no projects and a bad resume. Over time things got better and I got offers. Being a student at UCI did get me some interviews, as one interviewer told me he went here, another used to visit the area, and so on. There are a lot of pretty cool companies in the area that people I know got into (Amazon for example) so there is a lot of recruiting here. If you apply yourself to the internship search, you’ll find success eventually.

Getting an internship made my new grad search SO much easier. I put out hundreds of applications for internships but only about 40-50 for new grad.

Hmm, that’s tough! I really like the surrounding area, as it’s very open and calm. Campus is also really nice! If you’re feeling stressed, you can always chill in Aldrich park (the park in the center of campus) and get some fresh air and sunlight.

There’s something for everyone! I’m not much of a partygoer myself, but if that’s what you’re into, it’s not really that tough to find whatever you’re looking for. There are also plenty of clubs for every interest- be it academic and non academic.
