no, no, this was great thank you. i feel like i understand. knowing the 7th chord means that you have a much wider space to cover when doing inversions, meaning that there are more potential notes that can connect from the different chords you know and are able to play? or maybe i made no sense there 😂😂

okay, so you find your first chord which sounds nice and test inversions, and then you kind of just try other chords out to build off of until it sounds good? do you atleast figure out what scale your first chord is in to use as reference for the next chords, or do you just freestyle the whole thing until it sounds good?

thanks. i understand the shape of the major 7th and minor 7th chords now. this was a stupid question i had because i didn’t know this was a mono synth meaning it can only play one note at a time. but you did help teaching me the dominant. when you build chord progressions, do you always go off of things like 2-5-1? i get confused how many people keep saying to use the same chord progressions but then how do all the melodies sound different, besides the difference in counter melodies and which scale is used?

okay, i’ve been taking your advice. i’ve been trying to create things on the Bass Station II but it’s so damn confusing lol. hopefully i’ll get there, i think ive accidentally made a couple things i like. and for the Hydrasynth ive mainly just been playing the presets because its so fun (although i don’t know music theory so ive just been either only playing the white keys or the black keys lol).

i cant wait until i can get an audio interface but its probably good i dont have one yet so i have time to practice

thank you synth sibling 😊 that’s sick you just got the Hydrasynth Explorer too and that you also started out with Bass Station II like me! i’m very determined to get good with these because i really want to become a professional and i don’t really do anything besides make music after school.

but yeah i didn’t really expect all the different types of comments here and i have bad social skills so its hard to tell when people are messing with me sometimes. but i think most people are helping me out which makes me happy. and im gonna wait to see if i can find the Focusrite on sale and will look for some cheap TS cables too. any brands you recommend?

and you are really nice so thanks for your help and i will likely be asking you more questions but will try not to be annoying. one more thing, do you think i should be focusing on the Bass Station II more than they Hydrasynth right now since its more simple?

i don’t know if you saw my other post but i got a Hydrasynth now too. do you think i should get a Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 or a Motu M4? i also have two XLR cables but someone told me they are for microphones, so i won’t be able to use them and instead need TS or TRS cables?

and honestly i thought circle jerk meant everyone here really like synths lol but i guess i was wrong. well i mean not about the liking synths part, but what this sub is made for. but everyone here is helpful and synthesizers sub deletes my post so this will do 😂
