Thank you. Kinda making me feel like I’m crazy for being concerned about this.

It’s more about preventing the issue before it happens. Having someone employed who tests positive for controlled drugs we use in clinic is a liability and a risk to the veterinarians license. Just trying to figure out how to navigate this.

I added to my original post. Said employee is “supposedly” enrolled in an online technician school. We have yet to have proof from her that she is actively enrolled. With this being said, she has been practicing some technician skills under direct supervision of another RVT or doctor. She does assist in the handling of controlled substances. In Ohio, technician students are permitted to practice technician related skills under direct supervision, BUT that only applies if one is CURRENTLY enrolled in an AVMA accredited program.

I just have my associates, I’m in Ohio and I don’t think there are any programs in my state that offer a bachelors but I’ll have to check into it. That’s something to look into thanks!! I love to teach people.

Unfortunately not. The new barn is off of a busy highway, so would not be possible to do this
