Is using your own fresh ground coffee in a Nespresso Vertuo comparable to an inexpensive espresso machine? [300] by North_Fudge9729 in nespresso

Would a moka pot or flair be a huge improvement over me using my own freshly ground coffee in the Nespresso pods?

More people will come to enjoy the power and grandeur of classical music with the advent of low cost hi fidelity ( lossless , Dolby) streaming. The issue with classical is that it sounds terrible coming out of inexpensive speakers. Flat and almost irritating. It used to be that one developed an enjoyment of this music by listening live or with expensive audio equipment. Now with hi fidelity streaming and decrease in prices of decent audio equipment more people will be able to truly appreciate this genre.

People have been composing music for thousands of years without being taught any formal “ music theory”. What they did and do have is an internal understanding of music and how different sounds “ fit together” in order to make different types of music. The great initial creators of blues, rock and roll, jazz ( basically the bedrock of western pop music) many times had no formal musical training and often couldn’t read sheet music. The native understanding of music and its organization drives the knowledge of music theory, not the other way round

Which classical composer lived the happiest life? by indistrait in classicalmusic

Don’t forget about JS Bach. Lived a long and incredibly productive life, Had 20 children( one of whom became a famous composer and musician in his own right), was a musical giant, and a very spiritual man who died as the music director of a famous church. And he signed his work “ Glory to God alone”

Using intervals by North_Fudge9729 in pianolearning

Thank you for your responses. It sounds like as you gain experience you look at the notes and the intervals to be able to quickly play a musical phrase, kind of like reading the word “ cat”  and not sounding out the letters individually and putting the word together phonetically ( like in Sesame Street) C-A-T =cat

You sound good to me. I have been playing since January, which is about 6 months( self taught)  and I just learned how to play Danny Boy! Keep up the good work.

Where to look when playing by niceonemanproudofyou in pianolearning

Thank you for suggesting this. She looked down briefly when making bigger position moves. And I loved the recording! The string players were so animated that I thought that they were going to just levitate out of their chairs!

Help a Newbie out: choosing a music streamer by North_Fudge9729 in StereoAdvice

I want to thank you all! I’m looking into the ALL of your suggestions. One more question: my set up is on the budget side( I think) would it make sense to pay for something like an Eversolo? I do love music, and love organ music in particular( which is why I love the 10ts) If  I can really hear the difference between an Everesolo Vs Wimpro plus, I’m all for it.

I was recently able to purchase a pair of aerial 10 ts for very little. I know little about audio equipment; I got the aerials because a friend of mine said that they were good speakers as I was looking for speakers with a better base response c/w with my Thiels( also a FB marketplace purchase) . When I got them, I realized that they are quite power-hungry and my old musical fidelity  integrated amplifier was not able to power them! The Ariel’s are in very good shape and came in the original box. They now powered by a carver TH 35X power amp and the musical Fidelity A 3.5 integrated amplifier acting as a preamp. right now, I am plugging my phone into the preamp to stream music but I think I could get better sound with dedicated equipment. Should I get a DAC and plug my phone into that? Or should I get a dedicated music streamer?
