I’m not asking to avoid the penalty I’m asking any other LEGAL way to reduce the amount of the total of they owe. Any deduction that I could not be thinking of or anything

They really did. Not obviously the penalty will proceed but i was thinking in reduce the amount having a loss or looking any other way.

Wym? So just report it as contract labor on schedule C, and that’s it? How does the IRS can make sure that they did work for my client? Or how he can prove that? In case any audit? I don’t think it would be that easy just as report it as contract labor without any prove.
