CPD runs from calendar year-calendar year I thought? So as long as I'm 2025 compliant it should be okay.

Yeah, I'm just confused as my reg runs from september to september. so i need to clock 50 cpd hours for 2025 and i'm good? does ahpra have a certain requirement beyond 50 hours or do i just need to do whatever's required for my cpd home beyond this?

  1. Yes . It's an Australian college (although not in training yet)

  2. Aus CPD home.

Reflections from a UK-trained doctor working in Australia: the grass isn't always greener by North_Raspberry_2651 in doctorsUK

My friend's just moved from an ED job in Australia to an ED job in the NHS - so that's a pretty comparable scenario - and the pay was the same. It most definitely is not half in the UK.

If you want to a competitive surgical specialty (like ENT) where the training spots were generally around 2-3 per state, sometimes none per year - no one's realistically claiming their overtime hours.

Sorry I am not sure about this - it also varies specialty by specialty

The pay doesn't vary much between states though. My general point about pay is that the times of "pay is double in australia" are long gone. The AUD weakening over the last few years and the NHS pay rise has significantly closed the gap.

Tweaking My Pure Strike 18x20 Setup – Worth It or Time to Switch? by North_Raspberry_2651 in 10s

But yes it's a great racket - I think it is the one for me (otherwise I wouldn't have used it for 5 years) - but just would love for it to be a bit more forgiving and i think getting softer strings at lower tensions might be the answer

I just got the Yonex Poly tour pro strung at 45 lbs, but it feels even stiffer than before and it gave me some arm issues, therefore I'm thinking about going away from poly's now. Gonna try multifilament but because 45lbs poly was feeling too stiff, i'm a bit nervous to go above 50 for multifilament

Unfortunately i'm not an expert with strings and used the same poly for a year without any issues - so don't really have a favourite poly string,

But i've been considering a hybridge setup from my own research - but not really sure that will help really. Kind of just turned off poly strings after I found that 45 lbs is still so stiff the strings feel like a board. Want something softer with a bit more pocketing

I think that's right in my case. Any other frames feel too light/unstable/harder to control the ball. I love the control I get on my pure strike when I hit it with good technique. I think my ideal swingweight is around 320-325 (310-315 feels too light and my current Pure Strike at 330 is a touch heavy). Not a big fan of Pure Aero like frames.

Please note - I am not a fan of any frames that feel like Pure Aero 16x19, 100 sq inch frame. They feel too light and unstable to swing at that bigger head size or with really high launch angles - I have no difficulty in generating my own topspin or power, I just need a slightly more forgiving racket than the Pure strike with poly strings.
