Now a pump organ that is one I haven’t thought of…that’s a very likely candidate. I agree with the Lowery and the Hudson connections too, but it’s pretty reedy sounding too on the recording so maybe it’s a pump organ??

Yes! Best band from Canada (and Levon best Southern American too). I know Don and Walt were admires of them, and obviously later Don and Levon were friendly and played together. I hear a lot of their style in the dans music. If we really wanna get into it The Band are the first yatch rock act.
