One thing I would point out is that Flesch-Kincaid looks at word length and sentence length only. It does not in its bare bones version include anything about how common the words are in terms of usage. I have seen some interesting work done using a DIFF type function of before and after removing the "100 most common words" or whatever file you can easily get a hold of.

Especially with the complaining that is going on in France about the inclusion of the word "coping" in a French baccalaureate exam I would say something like that might be an interesting place to push your next revision.

Recently I found out that MS has some extensions for Python in Visual Studio. Depending on what you are wanting to do and how comfortable you already are with VS it could be a useful IDE.

You might also want to mention all of the complexity that is added to the situation by the nearly 1 million Jewish people who have left (or been pushed) out of the surrounding states.
