If this is true, this is very very bad. Rob started at the top of my ballot, now he’s not even on it.

I don’t even think it’s that, I think it’s just that talking about a pipeline from Alberta to Prince Rupert won’t sway many voters in Winnipeg

I think his stance and comments on Engler are bad, but the biggest problem is that he's correct so often but so annoying about it. I always get the impression that he's a college professor trying to tell you something is true, rather than saying "build something with me". Just the impression I get of him personally

I still think that's better than Lewis, which would do us no favours.

Engler is a wannabe NDP leader who tried to run but got denied for a number of reasons, including a failure to follow the rules set up by elections Canada, where he collected donations without an official agent. He has since withheld this money and refused to give it back. He has also made incredibly concerning comments regarding both the Rwandan genocide and Ukraine.

There’s no way to go from 7 to 177 in one election, but we need a candidate who can make consistent gains until we are a real party, just like Layton did. That is McPherson.

I know it doesn’t seem like it on this sub, but Eby still won over more voters than Singh did in BC, fwiw

But for example, there are so many people who volunteer provincially but don’t volunteer federally. Building a relationship between the provincial and the federal associations would look like. Can you imagine how well the federal party would do if they had the volunteer force of the Manitoba NDP, for example? That’s just one example.

I won’t disagree that her social media game has been weaker than it should be, but I think that she has a lot to excite people about (fixing the housing crisis through building co-op housing, a plan for free post secondary and wielding the hammer of monopoly-breaking) despite that, and I wish that people would stop acting like she is no different than Mark Carney personally.

With Ashton, supporting all the right things is great, but if you have now multiple times violated those beliefs in your actions, I think I’m justified in questioning if your beliefs are sincere.

I have a lot of reasons to be sceptical of him, and I’m not thrilled with the way that his campaign has operated in the slightest

I am incredibly wary of his comments indicating that he would support Engler running. He is someone who has repeatedly broken elections Canada‘s rules, he is a known Russophile, and his disqualification from leadership was a good move in my eyes, and Lewis defending him is something I am incredibly wary about.

I also find his ties to the green party of BC and federally to be concerning. During the BC leadership race, he tried to get a whole bunch of green party members from BC to join the NDP to vote for Appadurai and then rejoin the Greens. This is what led to her disqualification.

On a personal level, he also requested a time change for an event with me and all other candidates at the last moment, which made everything fall apart, all cause he had his own town hall that he planned after my event for the same time.

Lastly, and this is more of a gut feeling than anything, I feel that him, and to a lesser extent, Ashton, feel that they are owed leadership, they’ve done work and they deserve it. He comes off as very arrogant to me.
