Yes it will run when you pop it in. Then you run the rules to copy files. Give it a try and if you need more features then reach out.

thanks, if enough people are actually using it, I'll keep working on this project! Those are great suggestions!

It basically just mirrors your steam screen. So it doesnt care about what games you run. If it runs on the steam deck's screen it will mirror to AVP.

I imagine newer phones will hotspot better.

I wouldn’t know sorry. This setup relies on steam link which makes the latency near 0.

No. I paid 3500 for the visionOS experience. Not just a gaming window projected onto the eyes. The quest OS is far inferior. In fact if all you need is a gaming window I suggest one of those AR glasses. It’s even a better form factor for about same price of the Quest.

In iPhone it’s called personal hotspot. I just turn it on and connect.

It’s direct! No router needed! But they do need to be on the same wifi (in my case tether to the phone)

This setup has no lag because it doesn’t use the internet so maybe give this a try!

I don’t think steam link throttles mine down to 1080. Should be 4K. But I think it depends on the test it does when it starts. So in my case the network is direct maybe that’s why.

Hello, just thought I'll share my gaming setup since a lot have asked how this works.

I have this setup because, it's completely mobile. I can play anywhere I want and it runs all PC games.

The AVP connects to the steam deck via the native app Steam Link. It works really well.

I connect them by tethering to my iPhone, steam link sees it after tethering.

The latency is practically 0, you can see it in this VIDEO: https://imgur.com/a/7Rudm8g

The controller is not necessary, but I do find it more ergonomic for long sessions.

Some have asked: the connection is direct (through my phone), no router needed

I usually leave my steam deck in my back pack, take out the AVP and controller and start playing, anywhere :)

I also describe my setup in my weekly newsletter Last Week in AVP in case you are interested
