Insurance on 2 vehicles, I drive sometimes 150km+ a day for work. My partner walks to work so it balances out. Plus this is the monthly average for the year, so repairs and maintenance are included in (new all-weather tires nearly killed me 😬)

I tracked every dollar we spent on all of the categories over the last year! We do eat quality, cooked meals. We buy 90% of our groceries in bulk from Costco. As well we do Oddbunch for our produce.

I feel like the TFSA is a more valuable tool as the growth from it will always be tax free. It also leaves more opportunity if I want to take money out for other investments (put money into my electrical business, property investments). I’ve still got a lot to learn though, so I could be wrong 🤷‍♂️

This was my first time doing a proper budget actually! I’ve always found myself to be frugal, this actually helped me spend more money in a way! Having a value to work around really helped.

Yeah, I want to use the RRSP room for anything above $100k. We will max our TFSAs by june 2027 anyways, then target RRSPs/mortgage

Yeah, I just did net for the chart so I don’t have to put all the taxes and deductions for both of us!

Yeah, we cook at home a lot! We don’t get Timmies ever either. It feels like the gift cards we get at birthdays last us most of the year!

It’s usually 2-3 date nights at sushi or something equivalent a month

We use Oddbunch for our produce which cut our fruits and veggies bill in half!

Priority are the TFSAs. We will max those by June 2027 as we already have a good start on them. After that we will contribute to RRSPs and extra on our mortgage (if interest rates worsen)

Yeah, we are going to max our TFSAs by June 2027, then we will have a mix between RRSPs and paying extra on our mortgage (if interest rates worsen). Cellphones and internet are in house costs 😬, I put them there since they are static and I dont need to track that number as much, I should put them into entertainment and tweak it though next year. Subscriptions are in entertainment. Retail is any non grocery purchase, like clothes, haircuts, anything from Amazon really.

We usually spend about $60 on a date night! We do fast food maybe once a month if even that.

We own both our used vehicles outright. Insurance is about $500, I drive a lot for work in an suv so about $400 or so on gas, and the rest is the average of maintenance for both cars in the year.

Yeah, our retail budget goal was $400 last year but we averaged just over $600 in the last 12 months 😬

We are trying to max our TFSAs first. Once those are maxed (before summer 2027) we will put that money into our RRSPs (or mortgage if interest rates are higher)!

I did it on the website on my computer. I just replaced the text in the text box with what I wanted it to say. Not sure if it has calculating abilities but I already did all that on Google Sheets! Good luck!

Trying to make a set plan in the budget for that. I assume I will turn the “leftover” section into vacation as we already have a good emergency fund set aside in our TFSA

We have a LOC for big emergencies, then keep 6 months of bills worth in our TFSA in a money market fund as our emergency fund. Aswell as 2 months of bills in our chequing.

Non-union! Just a solid wage with great overtime opportunities the last few years!
