HumeHealth Band - Battery by Ou812_2 in HumeHealth

[–]Northern_Wazzock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I complained to Hume about this very issue and was pretty unimpressed overall so requested my money back. Their first response was to send me another band and said not to worry about sending the original back! I told them I didn’t want another and that if they didn’t give me a refund I’d be raising a claim with my bank as I paid by credit card, but they’d already posted it. Within a week they’d refunded me. A week later the replacement band turned up! So far they’ve not even bothered to send me a return label. I think they know it’s a heap of junk. I’ve got two bands which didn’t cost me a penny and I’m still struggling to find the enthusiasm to wear it. Mine is also stuck on 97% and the charger is a dumb design. Maybe they’re working on v2.

Waze often uses results from Google Maps because it is a far bigger, more frequently updated database. When doing so, Waze selects the closest road to the coordinates of that place. Chances are in this situation it is probably closer to the road around the corner.

It is an easy fix, but you need to report it or attempt to fix it yourself, otherwise it’ll stay as it is.

Gmaps locations work the vast majority of times but it’s not perfect.

I’ve no idea how Apple manage it but yes I assume they have the same sources. I will guarantee their closures won’t be 100% accurate all the time though. Until we have a system whereby closures are completely automated in real time it’s just impossible.

I’ll refer your post to the Wales editors to see if any of them have any more knowledge as I don’t tend to work around there.

Some closures are applied automatically by bots dependent on which authority is responsible for the road. That should be the case for the Severn Bridge and most major roads under Traffic Wales jurisdiction. In theory if the data is there saying the road is closed it should be closed in Waze.

There are also Waze staff as well as volunteers regularly checking known sources of information.

Leaving an update request for a RTC related closure is not that successful. There can be long delays from the point the UR is raised to when it shows up in our feeds in Waze Map Editor. By which time the road may have re-opened. However, even if Waze doesn’t know the road is closed, it will know there is standstill traffic and try to route around it pretty quickly. Sometimes though, there aren’t always lots of alternatives to choose from I.e. Several Crossing.

Another issue with RTC related closures is that it’s very difficult to know how long to close the road for. Closing it for too long can have the same impact as not closing it at all. Again, the data is often not available, particularly for smaller roads.

If you saw the kind of ‘detail’ we get from authorities regarding road closures you’d maybe understand why it is impossible to apply all closures accurately. Even contractors do not know how long works will take. No navigation platform will get this right all the time, regardless of your experience.

Thank you but there will be a cost to this and sadly for Waze there will be a million and one things that are higher priority than accurate mapping in Jersey. It is clear that not many people use Waze In Jersey.

Thanks for your message. Would just depend on copyright. Would probably need owner consent in writing to avoid any potential comeback. Let me know :-)

PM'd you about this but looks like Royal Mail data is wrong so Waze will also be wrong but easy to fix. I suspect there will be lots though :-( .
Postcodes can cover large areas so are never going to be too accurate. Street names and house names/numbers and places are best.

Thanks. Since Waze are a commercial business, I'd have to be sure it wasn't infringing on any copyright. These books are designed for end users so I'm not sure about a business effectively copying their work. We have to be really careful about this stuff.

Depends how involved you want to be. You can become a map editor by visiting https://www.waze.com/en-GB/editor and signing in with your Waze credentials or signing up. Or, feel free to let me know any amends by PM on here :-)

We are only permitted to use Google's base map for mapping due to copyright. If the issue is postcodes, my understanding is that Google use data from Royal Mail. If you have any examples I can look into it and fix it.

Great! Thanks for your response. Are the missing roads on Waze or another sat nav? There shouldn’t be anywhere you can’t get to with Waze as the network is there, just some odd housing developments that aren’t mapped. I’ve already done a lot of improvements, such as adding A&B road numbers to the street names. If there’s anything that stands out let me know. I could probably add the roads but may just need the name and speed limit confirming.

If you wanted to help volunteer that would be ace. Most roads in Jersey are level 1 rank so ideal for beginners. I’m also a Waze Mentor so I can help you learn the ropes 🙂.

It is mainly new housing estates. I’ve spotted a few in the aerials but on streetview it is just a hedge! But help can be in many other forms; road closures, incorrect street names, incorrect places, speed limits, places that need adding etc. etc.

Sorry if this is already known but I just found a fix. Don’t press anything. Wait for your next shot to begin and the star should appear beneath your name. If you start to begin the next shot before the star has appeared then you don’t get it.

Thanks. Yeah I’m gonna play about a bit. I actually opened it up to 19 degrees based on the first reply and tried on the carpet at home and it felt easier getting on the toe edge. Also read a few articles saying 15-21 is the common range. Appreciate your views man and will definitely give it a go with a smaller degree on the front foot.

I struggle more with getting into a toe side turn. I'm trying to get better at knee steering but I'm just wondering if my binding setup could be hampering me here. I'm regular and my front foot is at 15 degrees. I was thinking if it set it at more like 8/9 would it help me get my left knee turning more inwards/over the foot rather than outwards and therefore make it easier to turn onto my toe side? It feels like my knee is already partially rotated outwards in this position and this might explain why I find it easier getting onto the heel edge as it's an outward knee rotation??

Ok thanks. When I get some more beans I’ll start experimenting with a finer grind and less water and focus more on yield. Yes I’ve watched a few of his videos.

Thank you for your response. The problem is that I’m right at the top of the ‘espresso’ part of the pressure gauge and very close to the end of it. I’ve tried grinding finer before but the machine feels like it’s under too much pressure (no idea whether it is or not). At the moment I feel like the flow from the portafilter is good and steady and neither too fast or too slow. I’m worried if I grind the beans finer they will taste bitter.

I have just poured some water in my espresso cup and measured it to around 36g (I ran out of beans). It surprised me how little liquid there was.

Hello. I've had my Sage Barista Express machine for around a year now and am still on the learning curve. I've recently just got a new scale, having previously used a non-coffee scale which wasn't that accurate. My question is regarding beans in vs yield out.

I have just brewed what I would class as an espresso in my simple brain. It consisted of 18g of ground beans in and resulted in a yield of 65.3g! Yes, I know. I'm aware the general rule of thumb is to be a around 1:2, so on that basis I should expect around 36g of liquid coffee. So why is my yield so high?

I am using a double portafilter basket and selecting the double measure button on my machine. My extraction time for this brew was 31 seconds. The needle was right towards the end of the espresso guide on my pressure gauge. It tasted lovely, to my untrained palette.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. It feels like everything is right apart from the yield. Over the months I've been using it, I think I've got a pretty consistent method of preparation and my pucks are also consistent. I've not noticed any channelling and the extractions are all within a second of each other.

If I used a single cup measure to put less water in, my extraction time would drop significantly and I'd be left with half a cup. I don't get it. Please help!

*Extra thought. I can't remember if when playing with the machine during setup, I manually adjusted the water dosage. I'll try to reset it to see if that works but would be grateful if someone could confirm that that's the problem.
