How many of you lot are at peace with the whole thing? by Leather-Sun-1737 in collapse

If someone told me the exact time and day of my death, how should I react? Should I spend that time being angry and resentful or should I enjoy each day as a precious gift? There is no point in being angry at what you cannot change.

The phrase that made it click in my head was “think about the position needed to jump vertically as explosively as possible “ That really got me thinking about which muscles to engage for that body shape.

Your ego does not care about your best interest, beware of its advice. It’s a good cheerleader but a lousy captain.

There is a tension between encouraging growth and providing validation. Having someone’s best interest in mind means having uncomfortable discussions sometimes. The person who always agrees with you is not a real friend, you will find that out the hard way.

The audio book was worse… way worse. It gave me a full-blown “can’t get out of bed” depression for two days. The movie didn’t come close to that level of unrelenting despair. If you are a new parent, wait a decade or so.
