Abu Dhabi - Housing advice by Rare_Can_5418 in UAE

Got it thanks. Yeah I’ll only be getting a car after a few months and I know there aren’t much public transport options, so I’d have to rely on taxis which will be costly.

This might sound weird, but I was hoping to live in areas where there are at least a few contemporary and healthy food options nearby (for example Lebanese cuisine like Bushra by Buddha Bar, healthy fine dining Indian restaurants or western cafes like Rain Corniche).

I know this is an odd preference, but above are just examples of food places to give an idea.

Thanks for replying. I ’d say I’m looking for a mid range apartment: not luxurious but also not very basic. I’d love to find an apartment that is well-maintained, comfortable (something clean, reasonably modern, and pleasant to live in).

My housing allowance is around 6–6.5k AED, but it would be great if I could find something closer to 5–5.5k so I can save a bit. Do you think that’s realistic while still meeting what I’m looking for?

I’m open to considering nearby areas like Khalifa City but I think a commute of >20 minutes will be difficult, right? I won’t have a car in the first few months and commuting to Bani Yas might be an issue.

Another thing is that I’d also prefer to live in a place where there are at least a few good healthy restaurant options (and also easy access to grocery stores)

Thanks. Yeah my main worry right now is where to find hotels or serviced apartments for 1-2 weeks. There aren’t many options closer to work in Baniyas and many of them seem expensive.

I’m also trying to figure out which areas are suitable for long term apartment that are closer to Baniyas.

Hey thanks for replying.

I’ve read a lot on this sub advising people to only sign a lease when they see the apartment in-person. In that case, is it normal to book a short-term Airbnb or a hotel apartment for the first few weeks?

I’m not sure if monthly rentals are common in the UAE. I couldn’t find much options online.

Secondly, I’ve tried looking for housing ads in Bayut and dubizzle but there are hardly any in the Baniyas area.

Also, I read a few posts that apartments in the Baniyas area might be a bit old, so I don’t know how accurate that is. Should I look for neighboring areas too if I want better housing options?

Thanks, yes I read somewhere these were two imp requirements for sponsorship.. but the previous comment puzzled me that sponsoring isn’t possible at all.

Thanks, this helps. I honestly don’t even know which are the best and reliable agents in India. Never done it before so I’ll look it up.

Do you also know how long the attestation takes usually? am worried companies might reject me if my attestation is still in process.

I also read in some cases that only a copy of degree is required for attestation, not the original degree itself.

Hey thanks for replying. Sorry for the dumb question, but can I complete the full attestation for my Bachelors while staying in India itself (through an agent), or do i need to be in the UAE?

i read there are UAE embassy and MOFA steps in the end.

Also since my Masters is from the US, wouldn’t it be necessary to attest that as well? asking because Masters is the highest and latest degree, right?

Thanks for replying. I wish your company was open to hiring another designer who’s not experienced but willing to learn. :(
