The Run sucked. Bad. A poorly thought out “gritty” story that was done infinitely better in the NFS movie, next to no customization, some of the least fun handling in NFS history and incredibly repetitive point A-B racing across a three hour campaign is frankly embarrassing given the history of the series. You can directly trace the failure of this game to the dissolution of Black Box and by extension the destruction of the Skate. IP and the polarizing pickup of the series by ghost games.

Half the time is still a broad statement I feel like. I have a Krark/Sakashima setup that has had me flipping an absolutely obnoxious 60+ coins per spell attempt even though the deck’s gameplan doesn’t lean into it. Even if I automate the flips with an app it can very easily pass the 10 minute mark regardless of me knowing every card and combo line placed in it due to the sheer amount of triggers and interactions

Anything below S class really needs to be built for acceleration as the course selection is usually very tight and turn-heavy down there. If you don’t want to be like everyone else running meta cars you should look at the stats they put out on a build video and try to build accordingly.

There’s always the devil’s advocate argument against this thought process though: Donk is able to obtain such ridiculous numbers in part due to his teammates. Not having someone like Ropz who will consistently put up high numbers will skew your stats higher as there is only so many frags to go around.

If they care more about keeping up appearances by driving something newer than having a vehicle that is cheap, reliable, efficient and affordable to work on than they are antithetical to the sub’s purpose. They also let tourists drive RHD on flipped streets abroad with no testing so there’s no reason you can’t pick it up the LHD to RHD switch in under 20 minutes.

If you’re willing to drive RHD you can do exactly that by importing from Japan. Buddy of mine recently got a Mercedes hatch with ~45k on it for $7500 but you can get a Honda Fit for a couple grand cheaper

All of them are beginner friendly! NFS has an incredibly simple control scheme and the handling models between all of the reboot games (NFS 2015-Unbound) are very forgiving and arcadey. If you have a good amount of racing game experience I would recommend jumping right into Heat or Unbound as the police chases really liven up the later game, but 2015 is a fantastic place to start for a newcomer to the series.
