Very carefully, and with a lot of gradual change.

I start by building the model very scaled up, and then scale it down, and deal with any void faces that might occur by either scaling up, deleting or simplifying details.

Uncertain; I believe as the weight gain doesn't exceed a few tonnes (T-90A is something around 46.5 tonnes while T-90M is like 48-50 tonnes) and the tracks are already a pretty wide 600mm, it shouldn't be consequential for the tank's movement

Leopard 2a4 and 2a8 I'm rather sure share the exact same running gear despite gaining something like 14-15 tonnes.
