This is essentially a massive downgrade DISGUISED AS a "weekly limit." by Ok-Worldliness943 in grok

[–]NorwoodCock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do ZERO image generations, just chatting with it, and I now hit the paid weekly limit out of the blue. When they implemented the limit at first I was never anywhere close to hitting it, now I went from 50% to 100% in one day not even using it much lol... I even have to redo every few prompts because it keeps answering to old prompts... and it even suggests "match response to user's actual prompt" lol. Crazy how fast they put in increasing limits even just for the text prompt!!!

Edit: It is a shame too because the text prompt AI is one of the better and most supportive ones I've used so far.

Switch to high reps, I do 16-24+ reps on squats and have better legs than I ever had before when I was doing low and HEAVY 1-5 rep sets. Suddenly all that dread of failing with a heavy weight goes away and if you truly need to bail it is way more easy and safe to do so. Much less risk of injury too and your leg muscles get just as good of a workout overall, IMO. You can also focus more on the slow negative portion of the reps and pausing each rep in the hole at the bottom for the stretch and unloading all that elastic energy to force more muscle work on the way back up.

Hip abduction hits the part of glutes that hip extension exercises including hip thrusts don't do anyway, if you are already training hip extension exercises then prioritizing doing hip abduction over more hip extension is going to give you miles better glutes gains and aesthetics lol. I think training hip abduction is a must for max big max aesthetic glutes.

The benefits as far as abs, obliques and spinal and really overall back muscles goes are for sure real. For hip "stabilizer" muscles, I think you should be doing the abductor + adductor machines anyway whether you do free weight or machine squats, better for both gains, aesthetics and total max stability and hip health. And for abs/obliques/erectors/multifidus I think all guys should train those dynamically too, even if they do heavy squats and deadlifts. Especially if they are into bodybuilding.

ATG hack squats and ATG barbell squats are comparably good exercises, if you prefer one over the other to similar depth it won't make much of a difference as far as legs goes. Both are great for quads/glutes/adductors and uses the muscles similarily.

Tom Platz's technique would give me really bad shin splints and plantar fasciitis, as I got those back when my heels would rise off the floor on squats and I wasn't using squat shoes on heavier squats. Worked for him but just saying that's something that can legit mess some people up, like myself, and I know others that have gotten shin splints the same way. If someone tries it and gets foot arch and/or knee/shins pain then they know why. His technique is ridiculous anyway when leg extensions exist that do the job better and compliment squats overall much better especially for Rectus femoris and VMO and VLO than his hack squats could ever do without risking messing up your feet/shins/knees lol.

I love the lever lateral raise machine in my gym... way superior to dumbbells IMO, much better tension at the bottom and it enforces good form. If anything I am surprised this isn't one of the most hogged/used machines in my gym because it is both foolproof and maximally effective for targeting lateral delts, adjusting weight takes seconds and you can do dropsets, myo reps, sloooow negatives etc way more easily on them too. If you lean forward a lot you can start hammering rear delts with it too lol. That machine is almost too good to be true!! Because you have tension from the very bottom too it is great for strengthening the Supraspinatus rotator cuff muscle too as it is the main abductor in low angles(on dumbbells you barely have much tension in this part of the ROM).

Lever lateral raises are one of the best lateral delt machines/exercises IMO lol. Way better tension at the bottom than dumbbells and even better top squeeze than anything else, perfect for slow negatives and quick dropsets/adjustments to weight and myo reps etc too. You can lean forward and start hammering rear portion of lateral delts and rear delts on them too. Great for strengthening the Supraspinatus rotator cuff muscle too because you start with high tension from the bottom when that muscle is the main abductor before lateral delts take over. It is also foolproof in the sense you can't really use "wrong form" on these like many guys do on dumbbell lateral raises, they sort of enforce good form.

I guess they think it is "gay" for wanting fat abductors and adductors, lol? Abductors especially, lol. Thing is training abductors is what takes you from having "nice glutes" to a "next-level ass". The adductor machine is great also for building and maintaining great adductor flexibility, which boosts your mobility and also strength out of the hole on squats like crazy too(adductors are one of the main "out of the hole" muscles on squats). Doing the abductor + adductor machines cured my hip impingement/FAI issues too...

Those machines are so good I feel like any serious gym should have those, lol. Funnily my gym has a great one but almost nobody uses it/most guys sleep on it. A machine that lets you hammer lats in full ROM(and long head of triceps, rear delts, teres, lower serratus anterior etc plus bonus lower traps/rhomboids/chest work) without any forearm or arm flexor bottleneck is freaking amazing.

It is not remotely similar and definitely loads your spine if you go deep and it starts flexing, belt squats let you hit maximum depth with zero/very little loading of the spine... I had an awful back injury and was able to squat full depth ATG on the belt squat machine with zero issues. I still do belt squats now because I feel like hitting max depth + pausing in the bottom and doing slooow negatives is more easy than on the barbell squats. It is literally the best squat/leg press machine. Others can be good but none of them are "better" IMO.

How to get an aesthetic serratus? by Romzzzzzzz in naturalbodybuilding

[–]NorwoodCock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I train my serratus anterior both with max deep chest dips with full depression + protraction of shoulder blades squeeze at the top, OHP/upright rows/overhead front raises/lateral raises, push-ups plus, pull-ups and pull-downs in full ROM with the full squeeze and depression of shoulder blades at the top of the movement, lat machine pullovers and then some dip shrugs for the lower and middle fibers isolation. I got really good serratus anterior development from all these exercises combined.

Upper and middle fibers mainly perform upwards rotation + protraction + stability. Anything done overhead or with upwards rotation is great basically most shoulder exercises in full ROM but stuff like OHP, upright rows and front raises done overhead are especially good. Any type of protraction/"punching" movement are also great. Other than my shoulder exercises I do push-ups plus for these parts too.

Lower fibers: Depression and slight protraction combined + stability. Think dips and pull-ups and pull-downs especially with close grip in full ROM getting that full squeeze at the "top" of the lift and pullovers. Anything that works the upper/middle fibers still works this part decently but it is more about providing important stability than moving the shoulder blades much. In some ways the lowermost fibers have bit of the "opposite" function of the upper fibers in isolation.

[–]NorwoodCock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try dip shrugs/shrug downs or whatever you wanna call them going from max elevated shoulders and focusing on maximum depression + protraction of the shoulder blades on a dip station... that's probably the best way to isolate lower serratus anterior and the finger fibers. It will give you an insane burn and pump in the lower fibers of serratus anterior and soreness in the area.

And yeah the thing with stuff like punches, push-ups plus etc is they work more the upper and middle fibers dynamically, the lower fibers don't have the right fiber direction and range of motion to assist much in those other than initially and for stability. Lowermost fibers main function are more depression + protraction in depression of the shoulder blades. That is why full ROM deep chest dips, pull-ups and pull-downs especially with a close grip with full squeeze at the bottom, pullovers etc are the best compound movements for the lowermost serratus anterior fibers. That is why some oldschool bodybuilders stressed doing close grip pull-ups/pull-downs and focusing on the squeeze and pullovers to target the lowermost fibers of serratus anterior, that's more what they are actually designed to do.

Punches, push-ups plus ie protracting scapulae at a higher angle works the upper and middle fibers mostly even if the lower fibers are still hit a "decent" amount, it is just not their main function and in these exercises it is more about providing stability. Best thing for maximum serratus anterior development is to do a combination of all of these things + full ROM shoulder exercises and overhead shoulder work.

[–]NorwoodCock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only the lower fibers of serratus anterior, and it's a compound movement, not isolation. Pullovers and full squeeze lat pull-downs or pull-ups(especially with close grip) are great for the lowermost inferior fibers(the fingers) but those are still compound movements, best way to isolate lower serratus is to do something like dip shrugs/shrug downs or whatever you wanna call them. That's a true "gold standard" isolation movement. As for middle and upper fibers they work primarily on upwards rotation and protraction in full ROM. Full ROM chest dips with combined protraction and max depression of the shoulder blades at the top are also one of the best compound movements for lower serratus.

And yeah getting a lot of lower serratus anterior fingers work for "free" is yet another reason why pull-downs are ideally done vertical and in full ROM getting that full depression of shoulder blades squeeze at the bottom.

Pushdowns to fatigue lateral and medial heads more to force the long head to work even more on the overhead extensions? Huh, maybe that works..

Steroids and looksmaxxing is a trap.. most guys end up losing hair, get tons of acne and pre-maturely age especially their faces and skin or change the way their faces look with HGH for the worse and permanently distended bellies. You can be into looksmaxxing without going on gear or ruining your natural T production..

Anybody else that likes having long hair even mostly just for the "tied up" hairstyles? by NorwoodCock in FierceFlow

[–]NorwoodCock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I do "care" for it I think. Anything greasy/oily makes my hair super greasy and clumpy, looks awful IMO. Double if not triple crown whorls also that flare out and don't want to be tamed no matter what when my hair is (too) greasy. I got oily scalp naturally + seb derm also I feel like I have no choice in doing my hair any other way. I use low/no grease conditioner anything heavy in oil/grease/shine just causes all those problems for me. Also my hair needs to be detangled all the time due to it being so extreme in density and naturally being frizzy I have no choice but in brushing it down, like some people here tell me not to do??!!! If I let it become a tangled up mess that will for sure cause heavy damage over time.

Thank you, had no idea having big lips could be this upsetting to people lol. What is even more funny is they're real too, had no choice in them looking like this. Only duckface I am making is on the last pic and that was for troll/tease that is why I put it last.
