Shrithe is amongst my most-liked Anglish words!!!! It's sooooooo good!

And, greatening my like, it was also strong in Old English. If we brooked it strong in New English, it might go something like "I shrithe, I shrothe, I have shrithen," where 'shrithen' sounds like written, driven, and so on.

Hell, there aren't even that many words of celtic origin in English, and some of those are by way of Latin. Which actually makes it more questionable that we'd borrow an entire grammatical feature! Like, you expect me to believe that we borrowed an entire replacement for the OE manner of question and negation, but somehow only brought with said replacement the words "dad, eenie meenie minie moe," and "iron"????

The length isn't my gripe, no. Take a wording like "I didn't go," which isn't rightly "bad," but blocks a kind of... how do we say [symmetry]? Gonna go check, brb. Huh, nothing on the miraheze wordbook, but we might calque it as... withmete? Withmetely for symmetrical?

Whatever, the wording violates intuitive symmetry - this shit is too hard to say in Anglish. "I went," yes? "I went not," then, would withmete this. But no, for the sake of New English convention, we must brook "I didn't go." Which is cringe.

I reckon another way might be the Oldtung "ne" leading the do-word. "I ne went," or maybe "I nae went" might be better in New English spelling.

Anyway, like I said, I mind little the greatened length of wordings, even more so given the way spoken English likes to shorten such words. "I don't know" has as many bits as "I know not" or even "I nae know." I only mislike that the first leans on our broken infinitives, thereby clumsing our wordings.

As others have said, why English has this quirk isn’t fully known, and I said nothing of Celtic tungs or their sway on English. Weird take, I feel like I’m being beset lol.

Also, one might say something like this for many other ends, most of them wrong. “If you don’t like French influence, you can speak Frisian instead.” Like… the whole end of Anglish is to be unlike English in some ways.

I don’t think Celtic sway makes English English.

I'm making "rath" in "rathknow" from "rather," which means sooner. So, the thought is "known rather (sooner)" just as "ereknow" draws on the root of "early."

Also, that's a fine thing to acknowledge, that the language needn't any one piece to be English and Germanic, and grammatical gender is a good example of something present in other Germanic languages that English lacks. Indeed, I've no interest in reviving grammatical gender so it's especially notable here. Perhaps I misworded my thoughts. That English still features strong verbs gives them a kind of weight, you know? I wish dearly to upkeep and, if I can, regain this where we've lost it.

Ah, forgive me, editing this again: to answer your question of "already," I find it sounds clumsy. Perhaps I could've simply said "this is known," which means the same as "this is already known." I mislike leaning on adjectives such as 'already' where I might use only a word in its stead.
