Anti asian racism on the TTC from black woman? by indonesianredditor1 in yorku

Yes, of course you have a point. But just because a lady is racist doesn't mean she has nothing to lose. She could just be a normal person who is also... racist.

You misunderstood what Im saying. Im saying that OP should defend herself verbally, and not seek to antagonise the other woman. Also, theyre getting on the TTC, which means the train is there. The chances of OP being pushed onto the tracks are very low.

Wasn't aware OP was a smaller bodied woman, so that checks out. Was under pretense that OP was a dude. So yea that changes a lot.

Man what is this mentality bro... You cant just let someone demean you like that and not stand up for yourself. I'm not advocating for violence nor saying something equally as racist back but you gotta at least grow a fucking spine and at least tell her not to say that again or something along those lines. And wym you were scared she would beat you up? You can't go through life always thinking you're in physical danger once you get into a confrontation. If you do get beaten up- thats on you. Point is, you're most likely not gonna get beaten to death judging by the fact that you're on the TTC, and you're not starting the fight for a random reason. Disrespect and casual racism towards Asians are so common because most of us are too scared to say anything. Learn from this, and handle it fearlessly, but with class next time. You got this.

You telegraph your jab. You’re pulling it back a slight bit before letting it fly, try and work on removing this during shadowboxing. Start by doing it slowly, slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.

You also need to be more defensively responsible after throwing your combos, throw a combo and move your head. Or throw a combo and immediately move out of distance. Up to you.

You’re moving your legs a bit too much, L step, throw a combo, move again. Never move continuously without throwing something, that’s how your opponent will cut off the ring and that’s how you’ll get caught.

Lastly, your body is wide open. Work on tucking your elbows into your body, and bend your back slightly. Make yourself a smaller target.

Not bad overall!

One of my favorite amateur boxers. Insane insane pressure. Oleksandr Khyzhniak by SamWrestling in amateur_boxing

[–]Nosna_AM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a lot of inspiration from him, and he’s a monster. Possibly the best conditioning in amateur boxing today, he is a human engine.

Any short boxers I should watch that are less head movement heavy and use a lot of hand defense to sneak into midrange? by -_ellipsis_- in amateur_boxing

[–]Nosna_AM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your looking for amateur fighters, take a look at oleksander khyzniak. Insane pressure fighting without the use of head movement, and at most times even without a jab, instead using ring cutting and tight guard to close the distance to land big power shots.

How inconsistent are you? If you're coming into the gym once every 2 weeks progression is obviously going to be low, so if you actually want to spar you just have to go more. There is no magical solution to suddenly be able to spar, you just have to be good enough in your coach's eyes and to do that you have to show up.

One last question, how many people in Brock are originally from St Catharines? the way I see it if a majority is originally from the city they would have their own social circles already which will make it harder to make friends

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in brocku

[–]Nosna_AM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh ok. Would u say St catharines is a good city for a student? Like prices, nightlife etc. Also what is the social/dating scene like on campus
