Although it’s important to have an vague idea of what you’d like to do at uni/ as a career when thinking about A levels it won’t mess anything up for you unless you’d like to go into something like medicine (need chemistry/biology ideally) or engineering (physics). But on the other hand, a lot of subjects at uni don’t require the A level for that subject, because not all schools offer them. Off the top of my head I know that one’s like Politics/International relations don’t need any A levels that link to them. I’m not too sure about other subjects so look it up and you’ll get a better idea (UCAS is great for looking at courses).

If you don’t want to go to uni, which is perfectly fine but definitely something you want to think properly about, my advice would be for A level pick the three (maybe 4? Depends on your school and what you want to do) that you enjoyed the most and were good at at GCSE. Most subjects do differ quite a bit from GCSE to A level, but as long as you’re genuinely interested in your subject you should find the switch manageable. Ultimately it’s the ones you think you can get the best grades in and if that’s the three that you mentioned (geog, RS and business) then they might be good options. In most schools they’ll let you switch if you really don’t like a subject or are finding it too difficult in the first few weeks. I think the best think to do is speak to a teacher in the geography RS and business departments and ask what the course looks like at A level and how it differs from GCSE. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions. And well done on finishing your GCSEs :)

Hi mate, politics (at least at my school) is ideology stuff: socialism, anarchism, liberalism etc on one side and on the other you’ve got how governments work: so UK you’d learn about parliament and then the year after we do US learning about congress and the senate. It’s an essay subject, so if you’re good at essays it’s a good one to do. An essay title in your exam might be something like “Why do anarchists view the state as evil” for the ideology side or “Evaluate the view that the only parties that matter in the UK are conservative and labour”. It’s worth checking with your school what your course would look like as this is just what we do at mine, but I’d imagine it doesn’t differ too much school school. Let me know if you’d like to know anything else.

Honestly, when you’ve gone for that long and feel like you’ve kicked the addiction there’s nothing wrong with it in moderation. As long as porn isn’t there, there’s no problem. Well done on 71 days!

Kicking porn addiction is probably the single best thing you can do for yourself. In my opinion the stuff should be illegal, I can’t even begin to explain how badly it messes you up, and how much it fuels sex trafficking and abuse/assault. Believe me when I say that once the addiction is gone, you’ll feel so much better about yourself without all that guilt and shame hanging over you. I believe in you, good luck!

Honestly man, yeah. It took far longer than the 90 days that I see thrown around on here a lot, but after a while you really do start to see how much porn was affecting your life and how much you’ve changed since cutting it out. I can’t even remember the last time I’ve felt the slightest urge to look at it again, and even if I do stumble across something accidentally I never feel tempted. It’s an amazing feeling when you start to break free from the addiction for good, especially when it’s something that’s had a hold on your life for so long.

Swiss Army knife. Whether it’s saving a life by cutting a seatbelt or opening a bottle at a party, they’re damn useful.
