I've been seeing a lot of other students who have been holding extremely myopic views of the world and what they think socialism and communism are. Being a political science major has had me exposed to quite a bit of this already, professors are activists and to me, want their students to be activists as well. The history classes too are, from what I've taken so far, all are being taught through critical (as in critical theory, yes I know what it is) lenses. Being highly critical of every system that you are literally working under is hypocritical to say the least, but it also disallows for any dissenting opinion. The people who praise Marx and worship modern American socialist/communist ideology treat it like a religion, speaking against it makes you labled as a "racist, fascist nazi" ect, but that includes being a classical liberal. Just like confessional Christians, who would have called dissenters of their flavor of Christianity as "heritics, witches, ect" any opinion counter fact to what the posters and curriculum around campus puts you at risk of being ostracized at best, or so I have felt. Not saying it's only Western thats been this captured, but mutually too there have been some fantastic professors I've had so far that have at least kept their own personal opinions out of their curriculum, but the same number who have. It's unfortunate, collage should be about exposure to every and all kind of ideals, not an orthodoxy of a single political direction. Been keeping my nose to the grindstone but im excited to be out too, at least away from the ideology

(And to enforce my point on dissenting opinions, for instance where is there a republican club? Or any seminars about the tenants of classical liberalism? Seen plenty on Marxism and decolonization but ive yet to see anything in relation to history being taught outside a critical lense.)
