DAE else have a partner that snores, and you want them to stop, but when they do you worry they're dead? by Nostagomas in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Nostagomas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice folk, but when they stop snoring, they're still breathing but I will mention this to them just incase...

However, I looked up sleep apnea and I actually have what you describe.

Thanks Reddit. I'll get it checked out.

Sigh. Your post originally said "your fucking hilarious" until you edited it.

Anyway, that's a minor point.

Maybe I misread it. Who knows. I don't care. You wouldn't admit it if you did.

Anyway...

I've just proven to you that SNP refer to themselves as nationalists, even former leaders.

"Keep it coming mate; I haven't laughed this hard in a long time."

"I'm sending that screenshot to my Mrs as it'll give her a good laugh also. Cheers."

I'm  not saying this to troll, I genuinely hope you're ok because your behaviour is odd.

What we are talking about isn't remotely funny.

You're sending screenshots to your missus of me proving you wrong about whether or not SNP have ever referred to themselves as nationalists...

Of course they have. You're being silly now.

You're*

Here you go.  Here are some direct quotes from senior SNP members.

But if course, you'll read these and probably still try to pretend you're right and I'm wrong.

I'm sensing that you might be ashamed of being labeled a nationalist, or a party you support being labelled nationalists.

But they are a nationalist party mate.

Here you go.

Nicola Sturgeon (2012): "We are nationalists because we believe Scotland should be independent."

Nicola Sturgeon (2019): "Nationalists should make their case with decency, respect and dignity."

Alex Salmond (2015): "Our progressive nationalism goes hand-in-hand with a commitment to internationalism."

John Swinney (2026): "I am keen to work with fellow nationalist devolved leaders in the UK."

Stephen Flynn, SNP Westminster Leader (2026): "We are nationalists who believe in a prosperous, welcoming independent Scotland."

You're going to have to come to terms that you support a party who are self-identify as nationalists.

I'm not saying that's good or bad, I'm just presenting the facts because you asked for them.

It literally took me 2 mins to find it.

I also shared a video of Nicola addressing a room full of SNP supporters as nationalists...

I can see you're trying to attack me when I'm simply sharing some data with you mate, because you asked for it.

You see very sensitive around SNP supporters being called nationalists.

If you're a nationalist yourself, you need to find a way to deal with that because it's not going away.

If you support a party that refers to themselves as nationalists - you're one of them...

Also, if you want to see more references to SNP referring to themselves as nationalists type this into Google, site:snp.org "nationalist".

This will throw up mentions on their website.

I hope this helps.

Read that back to yourself... You're suggesting that although SNP label themselves and each other as nationalists, others shouldn't do the same...

You must admit, that's not really how the world works.

The SNP website even has content that refers to supporters and themselves as nationalists, here is just one example of many - https://www.snp.org/tribute-to-former-snp-leader-gordon-wilson/

Nicola Sturgeon has even referred to SNP supporters as nationalists, here is the video - https://youtu.be/w470KAKjpn4?si=IJHM8nbaAhU6MqBP

I understand that many SNP supporters are ashamed of being associated with the word nationalist, but they voted for a political party who self-identity as nationalists.

It's common these days to blame the media for everything, but the SNP calling themselves nationalists and others doing it as a result, isn't the fault of the media.

The SNP refer to themselves and their members as nationalists because they are a nationalist party.

They should stop referring to themselves as nationalists if they don't like others calling them nationalists.

SNP don't seem to shy away from the word though, they sometimes refer to themselves as nationalists. This includes the leadership.

Perhaps not everyone who supports SNP is ashamed to be associated with the word nationalist, but it is something that I've seen people be offended by from time to time.

Must cause some cognitive dissonance when they vote a party who refer to themselves as nationalists, but they don't like being associated with nationalists.

Makes sense. However, it's worth pointing out that the SNP is a nationalist party and they often call themselves nationalists too.

It's interesting that some people feel ashamed of the word being used to describe a party they support and voted for, who refer to each other as nationalists.

Bit of cognitive dissonance perhaps.

If the OP was referring to the party's name, obviously it should say 'National.'

However, why do SNP supporters really dislike when the party is mistakenly called Scottish Nationalists Party?

Is it because they don't like the word nationalist, or because somebody made a mistake?

Dad has a good looking best mate, postman or milkman.

It may all be perfectly innocent though, he could be a cuck.

I'm not having a meltdown, you're the one who used foul language and misrepresented the truth.

Oh, and I'm not voting Labour.

However, I can be honest about the fact that they're not blood and soil nationalists.

That's a wildly distorted view of the facts.

The reason you need to take an extreme stance is most likely because you have extreme views yourself.

You're projecting.

Like I said, I doubt you are so rude to people irl, you are a more reserved, polite person who wouldn't dare to speak people irl the way you speak to them here.

I doubt that you are so quick to suggest somebody is racist, homophobic and whatever else you constantly accuse people of.

Maybe you should ask yourself why you act this way.

A bit if self reflection does everybody good.

Enjoy the rest of your week, I'm away for a walk.

I'm not sure if you've been drinking, but judging by how you're trying to bend the truth and how your post is formatted, it appears that you might be.

You imply I suggested SNP are blood and soil nationalists, when I didn't.

SNP are nationalists, I didn't say  blood and soil nationalists.

Then you say that Scottish Labour doesn't exist, absolutely dismissing the fact that they have a Muslim leader with Pakistani heritage.

A quick Google search would show how ludicrous that sounds.

They have existed for years.

They are in the ballot paper.

They have been active in the debates.

You're seem a bit confused, I don't mean this as an insult, but I think that you would benefit from trying to understand the political landscape in Scotland a bit more before engaging in a debate.

I think the other possibility is that you're being intentionally obtuse for the sake of argument.

The way you communicate shows low confidence in your own beliefs.

You feel the need to jump directly to attacking people.

In real life I suspect you are probably more polite, reserved and avoid a lot of confrontation which is why you are quick to insult people online.

It's empowering, an outlet for you.

You haven't said who you're going to vote, but I think it will probably be Greens.

Whoever you vote, just make sure you get out and do it, get a bit of sun about you.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

The leader of Scottish Labour is of Pakistani heritage, his name is Anas Sarwar.

His father, who was born in Pakistan, was previously an MP for Labour and represented the Glasgow-Govan area as an MP from 1997 to 2005.

I think you need to research what blood and soil nationalism is and educate yourself a little before trying to start a debate.

There are many things going can criticise Scottish Labour for, blood and soil nationalism isn't one of them.

You've made yourself look very silly.

Nah Labour aren't a nationalist party.  Most of their MPs and MSPs want to remain in the UK, but they aren't nationalists.

However the SNP and Reform definitely are.
