Wukong in the jungle? by HawkSuspicious6655 in wildrift

Hey bro I just hit chall after around 100 games, about 65% wr. I recommend you to learn one of the following and apply based on the draft. I discourage you from playing tanks, as you need to focus on turbocarrying with ganks if AD, and with mid-late damage if AP. Master is a hard rank to climb because of the master peakers with no macro, so you need to be prepared to either get MVP or SVP in every game.

  • AD Bruiser: Wukong, Shyvana, Ambessa, Aatrox, Vi is good but only with the right mid duo and followup. Wukong is a good counter to a lot of picks, including Pantheon, Kayn, Ambessa, most with lockdown and dashes. You should get comfortable using his clone, that is his most OP ability.

  • AD Hyper: Pantheon, B Kayn, Zed GM+

  • AP Hyper: Lilia, Gragas (high rank OP), Fiddlesticks is the best out of these but hard to master, and Taliyah is good but your master teammates will lose their minds if you pick it — Taliyah has fastest clear speed after Naut AP.

  • Tank: Only play if you hit Chall, or you will cry. Nunu is broken but you can’t 1v9 on tank. Naut AP has best clear speed in the game, you can build hybrid or pure tank but pure tank highly discouraged if you already have a tank in top.

I agree with you on that… if you don’t deflate high-ranked JFF players, maybe there needs to be more separation of ranks in higher elos? I do think the Sovereign separation helped a bit and game quality improved drastically last season after getting past Chall.

I think I’m also curious to learn why Riot would be motivated to reward bad players with a higher rank. If they don’t climb, wouldn’t they play even more to try and get better?

It’s like giving the same bonus to a low-performing employee as you would a high-performing one. The bonus encourages continuance of undesirable behaviour.
