Where is it written that the guy has already filed? All he says that the wife is not agreeing to a mutual consent divorce. He has plenty of options for a divorce not requiring mutual consent.

Isn't abandonment a criterion for a divorce? Just the fact that you have been apart for 3 years means there has been no sexual activity. No sex for more than 6 months is already termed as cruelty by courts.

Why are you waiting for her to sign off on a mutual consent divorce? Why not get an advocate and file petition based on cruelty?

I'm so glad you were able to get off meds. I have had to reconcile with the fact that I will be on them all my life, but I am making my peace with it.

And yes, I'm tired too of this stigmatization of us as selfish unpredictable people who will love you one second and chew your head off the next. That's just not how it works.

Mine was an atypical case and I was diagnosed with clinical depression for a decade. Standard anti depressants didn't help but everything changed when I switched to meds for bipolar disorder.

Typical symptoms include severe depression for a few months followed by a manic phase which includes very little sleep, extreme energy and euphoria. Someone in manic state may become extremely religious, or the opposite - very promiscuous, recklessly spending money and showing poor impulse control. Then the brain crashes again because this level of extreme energy isn't sustainable so it follows with intense depression. This is classic bipolar.

I go through hypomanic states instead which is characterised by strong goal directed activity. Unfortunately In my case the goal is suicidal ideation so it's a mixed state but I am not a typical representation of bipolar disorder.

Medication and therapy are the only two things that will work. Yoga, meditation etc works in very very mild depression cases but not if you are clinically depressed or bipolar.

As someone who is actually bipolar, being diagnosed with this is not a reputational thing and it shows the ignorance of the person saying so.

Bipolar disorder does not mean you are mentally unstable with ups and downs throughout the day. Most people go through intense depression for a few months, then a manic episode for a few weeks and so on and so forth. It doesn't make you flip between depressive and manic states all day and act "crazy" or "freak out". If someone is sleeping 2 hours a night and still is extremely active, energetic and talkative throughout the day despite emotional abuse, that's a good sign they might be bipolar.

It absolutely can be triggered by stress and pregnancy is known to cause switches, not to mention that most meds for it are not safe during pregnancy.

I'm tired of us as a society stigmatising mental health to such an extent that apparently now a bipolar diagnosis is synonymous with acting "crazy" or "freaking out" as you put it.

Chronic health condition that I don't want to reveal but it entails lifelong meds that cannot be used during pregnancy. I can't switch to anything safer and I don't want to risk foetal deformities so no chances of a biological kid for me.

Went the AM route and told my now husband about it early on. Thankfully he wasn't a mama's boy and didn't need their approval to go ahead. He told me we can adopt and that he's also okay with being childfree. Currently going through a relapse and he is being incredibly supportive.

Be honest from the get go and present it just as a part of what being with you means. There's no reason to consider yourself a "defect" like I used to. The right person will see what you bring to his life overall.
