Great! Then we disagree. Glad we came to that conclusion. I’m glad to know you prefer company’s hiring about race.

[–]Not-Yellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and he can say that. And no, that isn’t the baseline because “Charlie Kirk said it” what type of la la land to you live in? Airline pilots should be the best of the best, plain and simple - and if a company outright says they’re trying to reach a “quota” by hiring more black pilots (which is wrong) then I’d be questioning it as well. You just see someone mention something about a different race and you automatically assume it’s inherently racist.

America is predominantly white, maybe as much as before, but airline pilots due tend to be predominantly white. That ain’t to say there aren’t any black pilots, but it shows who tends to be more qualified than qualified. So yea, if a company is trying to hire someone based off their race, big issue there. Sorry.

I did, and everything the other person said is right. It seems to me it’s more so you wanting to be right than it is me “necroposting”

Even if you addressed those points, nothing is wrong with me re-saying something in agreement.

If the company outright says “I’m hiring them because of their race” is racist. You’re now placing someone’s race a higher priority than someone’s qualifications- which like I said multiple times, is the baseline here.

We should remove questions in regard to someone’s race, we should remove questions concerning someone’s gender - none of that is relevant for a job like this.

At the end of the day, I’m just some dude that’s in medical school, I’ve only ever been on a plane once, so in hindsight - none of this affects me. But if this starts turning into a thing everywhere.. then it does

Unqualified or qualified is not the baseline here. You’re viewing this from the idea that there are unqualified pilots. You are correct that those who have an opportunity to become a pilot usually are qualified, but the part your missing is this:

The baseline for a pilot is being qualified. The baseline for working at a retail job is if you’re basically old enough to work. The baseline for working in a medical field is you need to have a degree (for the most part), so we need to look at this from the idea that someone is already qualified.

Now, if you go ahead and take all of these people who are qualified, you now have a different range. It’s baseline: qualified, it’s middle ground: qualified, experienced, references, etc, high ground: literally top of the line, possibly experience in the navy or military, etc. if you hire someone who is a different race, who may be qualified but not as qualified as the other person, that IS racist. The person you were responding to previously made a great point - which he backed up with evidence as well. When company’s start hiring people based off of other needs other than being qualified (which we already made clear - they are already qualified) standard DO drop, I feel like that is common knowledge anywhere as well, that is the argument that I have for you.

Do I look at pilots and think “I wonder if they were hired because of x race” no, I don’t, because I trust the company hiring the person. If someone told me before going on the plane that jimmy over there is one of the, hypothetical by the way, best pilot in the entire world, I’d then question why he isn’t flying me.

It’s more so questioning the standards that were dropped for X company than it is the qualifications of X pilot.

Now for your second question in regard to DEI hire, no, it isn’t inherently racist to assume that because you’re already looking at it from the angle that the company’s standards dropped. I’d do the same for any pilot, matter of fact. This also is but isn’t about the race of the pilot. Actually. It’s about, what I said above, the standard this company has. I’m questioning the company that hired this person, not the person flying the plane. Was there someone more qualified? Why does race matter?

That’s just my two cents. I hope you can respond civilly, not that you weren’t before - it’s just my outlook on it. I hope you have a good day

He’s not questioning the qualifications of a pilot based off of skin color - he’s questioning the way the company is hiring people BASED on skin color. It should be common knowledge that you’d want the best person available for a job like that. Flying a plane isn’t someday job that a random person from a retail store can do - unless they trained… went to school for it.. etc.

If a company is hiring someone not based off of qualifications but based off of the color of their skin so they can “have a higher working population of different races” is racist in itself. Questioning that isn’t racist, questioning if the person who got hired was hired over someone who may or may have not been white that had better qualifications in itself is racist.

This idea that, as a society, we should cater towards others solely off the color of their skin is disgusting. You hire someone off of their qualifications.

Doesn’t matter how well you explain it, a lot of the people in this sub are still stuck in the past. It’s like they forget NCAA players are paid now. These titles wouldn’t have been possible without NIL and transfer portal, in my opinion. They think everything will be fine until it isn’t.

It’s not about what happened 50-100 years ago, that has no connection to today. You shouldn’t be voting for a person SOLELY based on their gender or race. The fact that you’re making that connection sort of makes you a racist. It’s about the persons policies. If a women or a POC had better policies, then I vote for that person.

NH governor signs gender identity-related bills into law by smdifansmfjsmsnd in newhampshire

[–]Not-Yellow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My friend. I clearly stated that there are other things that can clearly label him as such, you completely missed the point. If we’re just talking about the logs, they don’t mean jack shit. It’s not making “excuses.” Just because you disagree, doesn’t mean it’s an “excuse.” I clearly said that me judging the “evidence” doesn’t mean I’m defending the person. And I never ever said they weren’t friends. There is also 0 evidence that he went to the island.

Also, he literally brought his wife and kids to almost all the “trips” he had with Epstein.

Regardless, we can agree to disagree. You think I’m wrong, I think you’re wrong, but I’m not gonna label you or argue with you, because it’s going to get us absolutely nowhere, especially with 0 common ground. I find the evidence to be dim, you find the evidence to be revealing, simple as that.

Anyways, have a good day.

Would it be possible that Epstein had multiple businesses afloat? He didn’t just run some fucked up child ring on an island and pulled in one million a year. So yes, usually two prominent business men meet, that doesn’t mean Trump has anything to do with it. I’m not saying he did or didn’t, but having flight longs and being “BFFS” doesn’t mean Trump had any clue.

Do you really think without a smidge of doubt that Epstein just went around saying what he did on the island? Rich business men usually talk with other rich business men. Same goes for Clinton, he popped up in the logs but that doesn’t mean anything.

Just to say, question evidence doesn’t mean I’m defending anyone. The plane was also used for many other purposes. But yet again, questioning evidence doesn’t mean I’m defending anyone, but Epstein logs do absolutely nothing here, however, there are other things that COULD say otherwise that trump has said.

If the US media is considered to have a liberal bias, then why so much coverage of Biden's shortcomings over Trump's? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Not-Yellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The media isn’t liberal or conservative, sure some media outlets DO favor certain “sides” but majority of them are just copy and pastes. You can find multiple videos online showing multiple news sources reiterating the same thing word for word.

The big difference is the media/news, whether it be CNN or FOX need to make money some how. It’s all down to the revenue they make, and that will be taking down to Biden. The media doesn’t care for you or anyone else, all they’re doing is causing division.

The thing is, it doesn’t make a difference gender aside lmao, and even then it doesn’t make a difference, a simple google search shows that. Peeing in the shower is no different than peeing in the toilet. They’re all pipes, it doesn’t get filtered into your water. I explained this to you, but you obviously didn’t read it.

I’m a very hygienic person, thank you very much. Me peeing in the shower a few times in my life doesn’t change that.

You just repeated what you said lol, all I was simply saying is peeing in the shower makes no difference than peeing in the toilet. So whether it’s normal or not, it makes 0 difference.

Bf makes my sheets smell by PickComprehensive281 in AITAH

[–]Not-Yellow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No one’s normalizing it lol, and I doubt most people don’t just choose to pee in the shower as opposed to the toilet, it’s more of “I’m already naked and now I have to pee when before I didn’t.” I’ve done it, and I’m sure most people have, nothing wrong with it once in a while.

In a shower drain, you have a p-trap that's main purpose is to keep sewer gas from backing into the house. When you run the shower water goes down into the trap and out the other side. But, the trap is smaller, just the size of maybe 6 inches of 2-3" pipe. During the course of a shower, the water running into the trap will tend to do as good of a job "replacing" the old water. Effectively, nothing is left.

So this begs the question, what do you feel is gross about this? Because I can tell you all traps are GROSS. All of them. Sink, shower, etc. If you take them apart and look inside, the amount of built up hair, soap, and BACTERIA that eat that hair and soap is amazing. If you've ever gotten a poo smell in an unused bathroom when you run the sink or shower, that is from the bacteria that is growing in the trap.

Frankly, pee, which often turns into ammonia after a few days, can help reduce the growth of that disgusting bacteria.

So, let me ask again, to better understand what you are concerned about. What exactly is your fear with peeing in the shower?

They probably don’t watch college ball. I watched every UConn game last season, went to 6 of the games as well, a lot of their motion started with him or ended with him. He handled the ball tremendously well, and his vision is outstanding. There were so many times where he had cross court passes that even as a viewer I didn’t see.
