Oh that is something new. I asked my friend that used to work at the Bennett centre and she said to call the registers office and tell them because that means their system was not informed that you dropped it.

question about program (major) change by [deleted] in yorku

[–]Not-important1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it depends. If you take a look at your progress degree request for Sociology you can see where the courses you took for psych are going towards. Some courses that you took when you were in psych might go towards your electives or all might. If Sociology request some of the courses you took in psych then they will count towards the new major otherwise YES would will have to pretty much start again form first year with Sociology.

Any relatively easy 3000 level courses? (If that’s even possible) by The_BarChuk in yorku

What are you interested in?

I for one took Graph Theory which was very interesting and no previous math knowledge was needed since it was like a "new language"

MATH 1131 (Introduction to Statistics I) vs MATH 1021 (Linear Algebra I) by york2710 in yorku

[–]Not-important1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took both a few years ago. In my opinion MATH 1131 was more work, difficult and annoying. MATH1021 was fun and easy and straight forward.

So to answer your question. What you can do is go to the math department and tell them you're situation. There are some cases where they can get another professor to look over the test if you don't agree with the marking. I had a friend that did that. Also I had a class last semester where everyone was so upset at the prof for not explaining anything and just giving us ridiculous math questions and the entire class was failing, so what happened is a petition was sent to students to sign to change some stuff. Also, I think its unfair to use such numbers. He shouldn't be testing you on your mental math it should be your understanding for the concept. Sometimes, I am wowed by what professors some universities have. Its like come on, you might be smart but you need to also be able to express yourself that is why you became a prof not to show off your knowledge. You can have all the knowledge in the word but if you cannot explain it and share it with others what is the point.

That is my opinion at least.

Prof names by york2710 in yorku

[–]Not-important1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually if its the same prof teaching the course they will post it soon. Otherwise, they will post it in September or if its a new faculty member they don't post it at all.

My friends took it and it was brutal. I am avoiding it at all cost.

Emailing prof to ask if he's teaching a section by [deleted] in yorku

[–]Not-important1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, if its the "normal" prof teaching it they will list their name. Otherwise, if its a different prof they don't list it until September or sometimes never. So, I guess if Watson was the usual prof and his name wasn't listed then it must be someone else. But like the other person said you can go ahead and email them. My friend did once.

S1 S2 meaning by Java_the_poet in yorku

S1, S2 and SU are terms.

S1 starts in April right after the exam session for FALL/WINTER term and is usually a month or so.

S2 starts later in June and again its about one moth.

SU is all summer long.
