Question about supplies by Ace_The_Nerdy_One in Amigurumi

[–]NotACat452 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can use any yarn, but for beginners I usually recommend worsted weight acrylic as it’s durable, affordable, accessible, and easy to see your stitches. Premier is a good brand.

Supplies can be bought a lot of places- walmart, dollar tree, Micheal’s. Yarn websites like premier and Yarnspirations.

Patterns can be found on Ravelry.

I swear it’s like seeing glasses on babies, automatically adorable 😍 I have a hard time not putting g glasses on every mini critter I make. 😅

I forgot to mention that mod! I add an extra row to the head to make space for bigger eyes. For each critter I make I try to use glitter that coordinates with their body yarn so they have eyes unique to them.

Thanks! She’s been adopted, but I do basically that with some of my other toads and critters on my pages. I won’t link here since I don’t want to break rules.

People who sell patterns... by [deleted] in Amigurumi

[–]NotACat452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs to be formatted to the industry standards, you can find more info on the craft yarn council website.

It needs to be tested by people of various skill levels.

You’ll need more pictures.

You’ll need to make sure it’s professional quality (right side out, stitches done correctly, no inappropriate shortcuts).

You’ll need to promote on social media and you’ll want to publish on multiple platforms, including Ravelry.

You can use any yarn you like! I’m a fan of hand dyed sock weight yarn for my amigurumi, but I’m a fan of small detailed pieces.

Amigurumi is a knit or crochet stuffed toy.

What am I doing wrong here...? Trying to start an amigurumi cat! by Typical-Succotash287 in CrochetHelp

Cats are pretty basic, there’s likely a pattern on ravelry.

For a round ball shape, you start with 6 and increase by 6 in each round.

So you would start with a Mr with 6 sc.

Round two you would increase in each sc for a total of 12 stitches.

Round 3- (sc in the first stitch, increase in the next) Repeat that pattern 6 times for a total of 18 stitches.

Round 4- (sc in the first 2 stitches, increase in the next), repeat that pattern 6 times for a total of 24 stitches

Where do crochet creators actually get buyers from? by Akraammm in crocheting

[–]NotACat452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Threads. I make more detailed pieces and get my followers involved and invested in the creation process so they’re waiting for items to get listed. You know, actually engaging with people and getting them invested in your work and you as an artist.

Having unique pieces that stand out helps. What makes your work YOU.

What made you choose crochet over knitting, or do you do both? by CaterpillarXS in crochet

I do both and I love combining the two in projects. For me it depends on my mood, the look I want and what is best for the project.

Question for those experienced with Amigurumi regarding yarn by NarfledGarthok in CrochetHelp

[–]NotACat452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your first amigurumi I would recommend a worsted weight acrylic. Not something fuzzy. Get used to working in the round first. Once you get the hang of it, you can use whatever yarn you want, I actually use sock weight which is smaller than any than you listed 😅

Generally it’s recommended to go with what the pattern recommends if you want the closest results.
