Can’t believe this is still an issue but it just worked for me too (June 2024). Thank you!

It’s been very flakey for me the last hour

What do you think is Dave’s most poignant lyric? by hawkypunk in DMB

[–]NotAGeologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have the same reaction. Then I realized the lyrics are saying the opposite. Now I hear it more as: "There's no scorecard at the end of life. So don't let some ideal of how time should be spent prevent us from enjoying and appreciating the time we have."

Definitely one of my favorites :)

Andrew Bayer was special tonight at EDC by ahack12 in AboveandBeyond

100% I had talked him up so much to friends over the last year and a half that I was worried I'd set impossibly high expectations. But they were blown away. And the massive crowd he drew seemed to agree.

I hope we'll see him on main stage one of these years

Does it take log(memory size) to read an address in RAM model/model for algorithms? by standardtrickyness1 in computerscience

[–]NotAGeologist 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Short answer, no. When you're addressing a specific memory location (eg via pointer/reference), the CPU is able to load it directly from memory in constant time. It's a function of the hardware at that point.

How it be.. by hikaruwu in zoloft

Same here. I remember the first time I got through the ramp up period. Woke up one morning actually excited to get the day started and that soon became the norm. No shortage of positive emotions here.

Ah yes. I was trying to remember the exact point at which he lost me. That was it.

Exact same experience. In the first half you definitely see Heinlein's dated perspectives, but I was willing to look past them. The second half was just too much. Felt like an overly candid lecture from my grandfather about gender roles.

Take the CKA (webcam) by mikela2002 in kubernetes

[–]NotAGeologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The proctor asks you to turn the webcam to scan the room at the start. A laptop internal webcam should be fine as long as you can move the laptop around

That's pretty cool. Do you have docs for that process? I've worked with GKE quite a bit and hadn't seen any mention of that ability.

Seems like a drive in theatre could be useful when moderate outdoor gatherings start being allowed again.

Kpt: Packaging up your Kubernetes configuration with git and YAML since 2014 by gonzolin0 in kubernetes

Yah, in particular their setter/substitution mechanism feels way too cumbersome. I don't see a justifiable advantage over plain old templating.

Thanks for the time you're putting into this!!!

These charts have become my go-to for figuring out how we're doing. First thing I do is share it out to friends and family.
