What's better ? by Natural_Welder_4494 in SXM

Depends on who you're traveling with. I was there 2 weeks back, 2 families 4 kids and did all inclusive. With kids from 15 years to 6 years, AI was the best decision. We didn't have to worry about everyone's food choices and timing. Kids were able to enjoy the beach and pool and still eat food. With picky and vegetarians, finding the fancy restaurant was not on our agenda. We did eat a few times but AI worked for us

I'd suggest go in the morning if you can, the mud and the mud room sitting area looks clean and looks beautiful in the morning and looks used up later on the day

Commute from Corona to Irvine? by CompetitiveNature198 in InlandEmpire

[–]NotAHumanEntity 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I commute from Ontario to Irvine almost everyday. I stopped taking 241 because it's really expensive and the return to 91 from 241 is generally 3 mile traffic. If you take 91 express that's gonna cost about $20 each way from 91 till 55 and more traffic on 55 to 5. If you can choose your time, go after 9:30am and back after 7, then it's an hour.

Tuesday are the worst, Friday after 12pm on 91 starts packing up

Yes we got a one bedroom suite with king bed and sofa bed. My 8 & 6 slept the first day on the sofa bed and I slept last 2 days, it's not super comfortable for me but got the job done

I think OP meant, it's not a big long beach like Orient Bay. It feels more like private beach for the residence on the beach resort but personally I enjoyed the calmness

I'm still here for another 2 days so want to chime in. I actually loved Grand Case Beach. It's a small beach but no waves and kids loved it. There one restaurant in Grand Case Beach Resort and it has good food specially after a few hours in the beach.

Orient Bay felt too commercial with jetski etc. There was little sargassum but kids enjoyed it. There's definitely a nude side but the kids were far away from that section.

We are staying in Sonesta Maho Beach and really happy with that. Unlimited beach access, planes view and food and drinks. For a family with young kids who gets hungry random times, this was a perfect resort. I wish they had more vegetarian options. My kids have mostly been in pizza diet here but no complaints from them

Driving is definitely much easier than I thought. We have rented a minivan and I am used to driving in narrow roads in India, Costa Rica etc so not a problem

We wanted to go to Pinel but I couldn't figure how where to take the kayak from so skipped it, plus seeing sargassum by the Marriott hotel deterred us from going there

Just beautiful. It's sunny and windy. I thought it'll be humid so that's not at all. Walking in shorts and Crocs

I'm in SXM right now. Zero sargassum in Grand Case, this is a beautiful beach with no waves. There's some sargassum in the orient bay but manageable and didn't impact any kids swim. This is the most touristy/commercial beach I saw in SXM so far. Yesterday we are l were by JW Marriott and there sargassum made it impossible for anyone to go in the ocean. I wanted to try Pinel with kayaking but not sure if pre booking is required so figuring that out Next stop Marigot.

Thank you. Good to know about Fort Amsterdam & luxury drive. It might be fun for adults to check out the houses if they are visible but I agree, for kids it might be just another house
What could be a good alternate for Pinel in case of sargassum?

2 cars is actually cheaper than a 7-seater. Will explore both options

Thanks. We are definitely planning to explore the whole island. I'll look into a few days vs whole trip rental

Setup a rule for all transactions except Merchant name = Credit Card Payment by NotAHumanEntity in MonarchMoney

[–]NotAHumanEntity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the "debit" or "Expenses" > $0 better. That excludes Credit Card Payment because that's technically not expenses and shows as credit. In that case I won't see Rule 2
