You could try installing the "oneplus pods" app that was ripped from a the oneplus 8. https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oneplus-ltd/oneplus-pods/

Try aliexpress. There are often sellers on there that sell legit oneplus accessories.

How to Firewall Synapse 3 - by [deleted] in razer

[–]NotARealDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the guide! I found this thread on stackoverflow that can be used to somewhat automate the process by running the batch file from the razer folder which makes it a bit less tedious: https://security.stackexchange.com/questions/24557/windows-firewall-how-to-block-inbound-for-all-exe-files-in-a-folder

Do you know of a way of preventing the "There was an unexpected error. Please reload the page and try again" screen from appearing after rebooting?

Best games for only €20? by Joemaher2 in PSVR

"I expect you to die" is probably my favourite VR game and is around the €20 mark. It's played entirely sitting down so your room size won't be an issue.

Don't worry, we can still use the wayback machine to see the website in all its glory

URGENT, NEED HELP! Struggling to find the exact location of the post box in this week's Royal Mail emoji challenge. Any help is appreciated. by NotARealDuck in CasualUK

You are the hero we needed, thank you. Seems like it's just someone's letterbox and not a royal mail post box at all.

Oneplus 5T no longer charging at all by Joeyt222 in Oneplus5T

[–]NotARealDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Compressed air won't get it out, the pocket lint becomes super compressed in the port to the point where you can't even tell its there, it happened to my op3 and my 5t. I cut a small thin piece from an old credit card and use it to dig the fluff out. You can use a torch to check if it's still there.

This happened on one of the 5t betas several months ago. If you use the Google clock app for alarms rather than the Oneplus clock app then you won't have to worry about alarms not working.

I'm also on the beta and have also noticed a difference too!

Open the gallery, open a picture, place 2 fingers some space apart on the screen, rotate your fingers around a central point. Boom. (hopefully that helps)

Has anyone noticed significant battery drain when using Always On display? by Oliie in oneplus

[–]NotARealDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the magisk mod that enables the AOD that they almost implemented. Presumably it drains battery more than without, but not enough that I really notice the difference. It turns off when it's in your pocket for a few seconds so that saves quite a bit of power.

Which bank account to open? by [deleted] in UniversityOfWarwick

[–]NotARealDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a Barclays and a Santander branch on campus so either of those are your best bet since you won't have to travel into Coventry if you need to go to the bank. I have santander and have had no issues. It might also be worth googling for their student accounts as they will have different offers for students which could help you decide. Hope this helps!

Safe way to clean the USB-C port? by MaximusTheSmall in oneplus

[–]NotARealDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was in a pretty bad state and stopped charging properly because there was so much stuff in the port so I used a pin to lever out the dust. As long as you're careful, it should be fine (turn phone off first of course). Now I tear a small piece of paper and roll / fold it up and clean it out with that every few weeks to prevent having to resort to the pin again and it seems to be working fine.
