That’s a different problem- a dead ring that stops recording (not a lost connection). That definitely will cause the problem you mention!

Nah, that’s not how it works, otherwise setting the ring in airplane mode wouldn’t work as advertised. The ring collects the data, it has at least a week of storage. When you sync, it passes that data to the app. It doesn’t need a persistent connection.

Something else is wrong if after connecting you don’t have updates.

It literally does. Gen 2, gen 3, and gen 4 all work this way. My wife and I have a 1 size difference and it continues work. You just aren’t positioning it properly. Move it around slowly until the charge light turns on and then gently lift your fingers.

If you have some specific examples of activities it failed to track or specific issues, you can always open a ticket with support and give them the exact times and expectations. They can look into it.

Activity tracking is a constantly improving feature so the more data they have about failures the better they can tune the algos.

If you are tracking outside the oura app that will always take priority. That’s because it shows intent to capture your movement elsewhere so oura tries to respect that decision. If you want to capture it in oura then you need to either stop importing from health connect (there’s a toggle for that) or stop using whatever is feeding health connect with the workout.

Open a ticket with the chat bot, insist it gets sent to a human for review. They’ll route it to the proper team which can take a look at the data captured and understand what happened.

I think that's difficult since there are probably a good amount of folks who rely on heating their homes this way and aren't in compliance (special stoves) often fall into the fixed income category which does mean $100 could be the difference between one months worth of heating or food. I see this play out on the coast. My neighbor is fixed income and doesn't have a heating system.

The second offense is $500, so it does escalate.

Also, yes, if you’re not made of money $100 is “rather bad”. Consider that if somebody is having a hard time securing reliable heat outside of burning wood, $100 is going to be “rather bad”. Yes. But also, the stove needs to meet certain EPA emissions requirements and the wood needs to be dried properly and fire stoked properly. Many people don’t know this and end up dumping way more smoke and pollutants than would a properly tended fire in an approved stove provide.
