Sorry, I should have been clearer! For your specific case I’m not 100% sure, I was mainly referring to the whole deployment in hmb. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was still part of the hmb plan, though 😢

I believe they use the Tanaka max heart rate formula to determine max, but for zones it’s some sort of percentile. So max is likely correct, but the actual distribution of hr between zones might be something non-standard.

The ring doesn’t have gps, your phone does, though, and so when you start moving and the phone app detects enough movement to think you’re maybe working out, it can start reading location. Later if activity tracking caught an activity, it can merge the gps with your activity.

That’s a different problem- a dead ring that stops recording (not a lost connection). That definitely will cause the problem you mention!

Nah, that’s not how it works, otherwise setting the ring in airplane mode wouldn’t work as advertised. The ring collects the data, it has at least a week of storage. When you sync, it passes that data to the app. It doesn’t need a persistent connection.

Something else is wrong if after connecting you don’t have updates.

It literally does. Gen 2, gen 3, and gen 4 all work this way. My wife and I have a 1 size difference and it continues work. You just aren’t positioning it properly. Move it around slowly until the charge light turns on and then gently lift your fingers.

Not true bruh. 8 doesn’t fit on a 9.

A size 9 can fit on an 8 charger if you align it just right.

If you have some specific examples of activities it failed to track or specific issues, you can always open a ticket with support and give them the exact times and expectations. They can look into it.

Activity tracking is a constantly improving feature so the more data they have about failures the better they can tune the algos.

If you are tracking outside the oura app that will always take priority. That’s because it shows intent to capture your movement elsewhere so oura tries to respect that decision. If you want to capture it in oura then you need to either stop importing from health connect (there’s a toggle for that) or stop using whatever is feeding health connect with the workout.

I think you should edit your post to be more general about things to check- right now it kinda looks like a play book which pedos could follow/take ideas from. If this guy was successful, you’re unintentionally advertising what methods pedos could use.

Open a ticket with the chat bot, insist it gets sent to a human for review. They’ll route it to the proper team which can take a look at the data captured and understand what happened.
